How to Adjust the Weight & Balance Point // McDermott H-Series 

Hex head sizes used to adjust cue are 1/4" (Large hex head side) & 1/16" (Small hex head side)

3.5 years later. What is the verdict of those playing with this? Any problems?

Very interesting system. Would have liked to see how the balance point changed with a full front weight setup vs the rear weight.

I was thinking about this the other day.......... because traditional weight bolt does not make it evenly distributed... Mcdermott always at the fore front of the real technology that affects the player's game, not just the cue.

Is the distracting music really necessary?

Is it available with smaller diameters, like between 10mm - 11.5mm? Low deflection shaft and ferrule? Pro taper? 15.5 oz total without the weights?

not saying the system does not work...but the balance point didnt move in the video. from what i saw

The weights in mine just keep coming loose, about once a week or so I have to tighten them and I know that wear is going to add up.

In the animated graphic is shows and says the bottom weight should be 1/2” from the bumper, but the actual cue in the video is close to 8” from the bumper. Did you mean to say that is the lowest you can go and to at least have it 1/2” away from the bumper?

That’s a cool system. I can’t get my weight far enough forward on my Viking cue when using a carbon fiber shaft.

whats the use of carbon fiber rod inserted at the top of the shaft?

I like it. I'm surprised you don't use lightweight plastic spacers too so that undesired movement over time is impossible

I bought two of these H-Series cues. I have a third one coming. The thing I noticed most is that if the rear butt cap isn't screwed down very tight, something inside gives an annoying click during impact with the cue ball. I am concerned about how much it is possible to torque down on the butt cap screw of the VBP rod and not crack it or the strip the threads of the butt cap. Any tips on how to make it tight without over torqueing the butt cap bolt? And by the way, I have not had any issue with rattling elsewhere or the weights coming loose.

I have thought about getting one myself but wondering about the butt warping over time.

Does it affect the way it feels when striking balls?

Too many things to go wrong. Wearing out from so many strikes. Screws coming loose. Stripping threads.
