Spent like 30 minutes fucking with my chair to make it tilt, just to find out its the damn lock mechanism. Then almost fell over after I unlocked it. 10/10
i wish i had seen this along time ago; thank you very much the chair have been locked for a long time i didnt know i had to pull that thing to unlock it
I am flabbergasted at the fact that I'm only now just finding out about that tilt lock. So many hours sitting uncomfortable in the past! I hereby express my gratitude, with its inherent face-palming bemusement.
THANK YOU. I've been aggravated about my chair for over a year now because it tilts too easily and I can never sit upright in the way that promotes good posture. I had no idea it could just be tightened like that. With the tilt lock in, it would still lean back a little bit and it always annoys the hell out of me
This was incredibly helpful, I haven ever adjusted an office chair before but i spend a lot of time at my desk so this was really important and handy info. Namely adjusting tilt - i dont want any, and tilt locking. Had no idea these features were baked in.
@@dalatrade Its not correct, I have the chair, please stop using false information. 0:50 She is turning it counterclockwise in the video. Not clockwise. Clockwise goes turns right, counterclockwise turns left. The same goes for a screw, to screw you turn clockwise, to unscrew you turn counterclockwise. Unless its a special application where its reverse thread. This is not the case.
Omg thank u for this video. Never knew what the tilt tension was and I was just about to spend money on another gaming chair thankfully I found this video
Thanks a lot, it helped. I used to be another type of chair and I was using the same method in my current chair.. and I was pressing opposite directions the whole time... People may think it's not a big deal but who doesn't know, and using it for the first time, this video will be really helpful. It maybe sounds stupid but it was a simple thing... You can search for anything on RU-vid.
i think im just retarded because theres even instructions on my lever and i cant lock it Edit: IT SAYS TURN LEFT TO LOCK BUT I CANT TURN IT LEFT IT IS A LEVER Edit 2: I FIGURED OUT WHAT LEFT MEANS BUT I CANT LOCK IT IN THE RECLINED POSITION. THAT'S STUPIDER THAN I AM
Is it normal for chairs to tilt with seat and back like this one and mine together? I thought you could also tilt back on the back rest while the seat remained at the same position. Maybe you have to spend a lot on those mine was in the 100-300 range. Or maybe that isn't a common feature in office chairs. Anybody know?
WHERE can I get the pieces-/inserts or whatever they are called- that go INTO THE WOOD so the bolts stay in the wood? I need to make holes farther apart on my seat and put those inserts in them so i can use a bigger stronger mechanism.... where can I get those insert things to bolt INTO??
Thanks! For awhile now I've suspected my chair of being too loose. Once I came home and my kitchen chair was there, but I didn't think too much into it. The other day I came home to my chair on its back surrounded by 5 black office chairs! I had enough which brought me here on how to tighten it. Thanks again!
I bought a new chair because I must have messed with the tilt lock. Then the same thing happened with this new chair. So i decided to look it up, Apparently my old chair wasn't broken, it was just the tilt lock. oh well
Before this video; I was sitting with all kinds of screwdrivers 🪛 hammers 🔨 and tools 🛠️ to see which part of chair do I have to fix to make the tilt functional.
Is there a reason why the seat seems to be tilted backwards slightly? From what I've read previously, I thought you needed to have a more forward tilt than backwards, or at least a neutral angle
the lock is useless. it locks while the chair is tilted all the way forward. it should lock while leaned back. the metal frame says forward and points towards the front of the chair, so it isn't backwards. it's just bad design.
I have the opposite problem. I cant get the tilt to lock and when i sit in my chair its like im sitting on a rollercoaster thats making its way upto the top of a very high and steep hill lol ....
Hi. Great video but t does not tell me what to do when the chair is stuck in the fully reclined position. I have pulled out the lever but the chair is not returning to upright - Help
I was confused why my office chair wasn't reclining as much as it should and then I realised the tilt lock was engaged and immediately nearly fell backwards lmao
