I've combined 21 of my favorite practice routines into one single training course. Each one is guided by a typical Sharivari video, where I show how to perform each exercise. Along with that I am sharing the knowledge I've gained over the years. The great news is, each exercise can be adjusted to your individual skill level, which means you have hundreds of different drills. Master each level and work your way up to a strong game. I watched all of your side spin videos, and I didn't know that it could be this simple! Great explanation as always.

Wonderful breakdown to the simple principles. Ive watched most of your vids about side spin and all the physics, but this "essential info" version really resonates with me. Thanks

Now I understand the contradictions of some and others about the deflection, it all depends on the speed of the shot. Thank you so much

Thanks for this. I never realized it switched dependent on speed. Might be why I always seemed to miss slower shots!

The hardest shot in pool for me, bar none. So many variables: how much side, deflection, strength of the shot, the distance, the cue, the cloth...
@macktlo9
@macktlo9 2 дня назад
To start, I would suggest practicing by keeping speed constant and changing distance. Don't try to remember all variables at once.
@salsabil44
@salsabil44 2 дня назад
@@macktlo9 I find it confusing that the aim needs to change completely based on the strength of the shot.

Nice video, Schickling. I see you chose to leave out the Spin Induced Throw (probably to make it simple). Cheers!

What do,you think of the “pivot point” method? (where you line up straight with a consistent bridge length for your cue, then pivot the aim) A video on that would be interesting. My own experience is that it breaks the alignment routine, to adjust after getting down on the shot.

Dr. Dave has some informative videos on finding your natural pivot point to allow you to use back hand english (BHE).
@ericwolf5067
@ericwolf5067 2 дня назад
I love your teaching style, Sharivari, but Dr. Dave’s FHE/BHE system is far easier to use across the speed/distance spectrum. BHE (pivot) for hard shots, FHE (parallel) for softer shots, and a mix of the two depending on the specific distance and speed required. The real beauty of this system is that it cancels out the need to change your aiming point. I use side-spin a lot (a good coach would say I over-use it), and after learning this system, I aim through the ghost ball on every shot, at any speed and distance… so it even cancels out spin-induced throw (SIT). I’m not going to link to this out of respect to Sharivari, but we are all students of the game, even the masters. :)

Thank you for your comment! This video focuses on the physics and how the cue ball behaves. I use a natural approach, which is essentially a blend of BHE and FHE. For those interested in these methods, I have previously made a video on BHE/FHE. I appreciate your input and the ongoing learning we all engage in as students of the game.

I'm pretty decent on bank shots, but queball spin always gave problems. This video explains a lot why. I just need to adjust my speed better. 👍

Nice video and well demonstrated, thank you for sharing! When hitting with side spin, do you prefer to parallel shift your cue to the side you are hitting or do you use a pivot system?
@alexandrucosminvlad9338
@alexandrucosminvlad9338 3 дня назад
I recall seeing this in another of his videos, where pivoting with side spin (back-hand english?) is used mainly when distance is short, whereas parallel cue adjustment on side with side spin (front-hand english?) is used when the distance is longer. Anyone, please correct me if I'm wrong.
@Sharivari
@Sharivari 3 дня назад
@@dansass1353 I am doing a mix of both. You can watch this video. At the end of it I am explaining how I do it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XzReP5txdV8.html

You might want mention how throw effects the shot as well. When the object ball is further from the pocket, this will have a greater effect on the ball. Especially with low deflection cues.

HOSS hard outside soft same but you state this differently. For the hard shots, you state left spin, aim left, but i was looking at it as left spin, aim right - as in aiming the onuect ball further to the right. Youre indicating aiming the cue ball further left. Interesting. I wonder which perception is better? For soft same, id aim the object ball further left for soft left spin, respectively.

Get a Jacoby ultra shaft. Even shooting hard, I have to aim more into the object ball with spin.

Without saying whether you put sidespin using back-hand, front-hand, or parallel english, and what are the head movements you do, I have no clue what you mean by "aiming in the same direction" or "a bit more to the right/left"…
@tonicogsf
@tonicogsf 2 дня назад
BHE and FHE are just techniques to apply spin. Once you get used to it, you can just get down already in the intented line of shot, with the desired spin. It's better not having head movements at all.
@micha-42
@micha-42 2 дня назад
@@tonicogsf they widely change what one would consider "applying sidespin and still aiming in the same direction". Without that point addressed, that concept is meaningless.
@RazaXML

the gist of it is that there is no way to teach how to aim with side spin. it's boils down to experience and guesswork. the more experience you have the better the guess. too many factors to teach any specific method. you just gotta go do it until you know it. problem is most people don't have a solid enough foundation of what it takes to aim without side spin to even begin to understand what it takes to aim with it. without that experience you won't know what does what and it will just be guesswork and luck. you just gotta put in the hours (and i mean hours... 1000 hours of practice is a good start, but not nearly even close to enough)
