Thank you times a million! The one reason I didn't want to do a reflowable ebook format is because I have images in my book that should be in specific places and I could never figure out how to make them, you know, STICK to that spot. This video is a lifesaver!

Thank you so much! I was on the verge of hiring someone for my epub only because of a simple character chart with images. Now it works!!

THANK YOU! I can't believe how obscure and ridiculous these options are to find! My fantasy novel has over 80 maps and illustrations I've spent years making and I've been slamming my face into the keyboard trying to get them to show up properly. My keyboard thanks you!

Can I just say that this video was the ONLY thing that properly told me how to put in the book publisher logo and map into an eBook? I spent 4 hours researching 2 days ago and found nothing but YOU helped so much!

You can click and drag your image to the size you want instead of resizing it.

So helpful!! Thank you so much! Just a tip when you import a large image like that, you can click and drag to the size you want and don’t have to just click it and zoom out and resize! Hope that helps!!

Showing the screen action close up and reading the option names and descriptions aloud is missing in so many tutorials. I have purchased many classes that I could not apply on my own computer because I could not see what they were doing. In an office, coworkers can help each other out If you're at home alone, you depend on the screen. I like your level of detail. Very useful!

Dear Becca, thank you so much for this tutorial. It definitely saves lives! I have a question though, when I tried to anchor my image to the last part of the paragraph, the image goes out of the page. :( Do you know why it happens and are there any solutions to it? Thank you immensely!

Here's where my document veers off course: I have about 30 photos, in frames with borders and shadows. All frames are the same size: height and width. All are anchored throughtout this 6x9 book and fit within the left/right margins. But when I convert to ePub (3 reflowable, anchored, etc), some of them move off centre. I have tried everything related to Object Export options, ePub export options, resizing, etc. When I delete the image completely and put it back, or any other image in its place, with or without the frame, that image moves, too. I thought perhaps it was always on the right-side page, but nope: it doesn't seem to matter. This is killing me. I have a huge project coming up and I need the images to stay put. Have you come across this? I'm on the verge of telling all my book clients to just not bother with .epubs if they have any images.

Mike, I don't know if I can help much because I'm new to this. Are you anchoring the images to other images or only to text? I don't think epubs support shadows. I have applied borders using CSS, not from within InDesign.

I am guessing this method works for adding scene break images as well?

Why the image still remain on page 3 when u anchor it on a paragraph on page 2? I am doing exactly same thing, but after I anchor the image, the image leaves the origin page it was and appears on the page where the text I anchored is :(

Have I ever used InDesign? No. Do I plan to? Nope! Did I still enjoy learning a little bit of knowledge? Yes! My excuse is that lots of software are similar lol

ONE Question.. .As you go through this process I notice you are not stopping to add the IMAGE tag to the picture or bounding box, just dragging the blue box.. is the IMAGE tag unnecessary using this method? Thank you

Hi Becca. Seems no matter what I do there is a lot of space before the image even though the image looks like it could fit that space without a problem. What could be wrong? Thanks.

Hi. How do you do it that you can see that on Kindle? It only accepts mobi. And. Do you change to HTML your text before export to epub? Thanks

Can you use the same method to use images in a printed book?
@VidyaKamalesh
@VidyaKamalesh 14 дней назад
Yes! You'll have to accommodate a bleed and slug setting into your book layout apart from margins, especially for areas with images. It can be exported to print resolution and published 🙂
