As a kid I dreamed of making my own comic, I still am but thought I'd be the first black guy to make a manga, kinda glad to ppl beat me to it, it's inspiring
keep the dream alive, i'm just a white boy but I finally started drawing my manga and am working on a 3 minute promo animation to help get some interest going. Im 37 so it's never too late to dive into your dream. I have about 20+ years of story ive cooked up in my brain and finally putting some work in!! Good luck dude. Post some links to your work if you have any i'd love to take a look.
I have to say this is the BEST CSP animation tutorial on RU-vid, hands down. It's easy to follow, the steps are at a nice pace, and questions are answered along the way to avoid confusion. I always refer back to this video if I ever forget something. Thank you for taking the time to put this video together! Very much appreciated!
Nah fr before he posted this there was barely anybody that would teach you how to make your own anime. This man stepped in like he was Sparda from dmc when he killed mundus 🤣💯
Did you just heard my “I can’t animate” screeches? Cause this video appeared in the right moment. I appreciate you and your content a lot. Keep it up man ❤️
this is genuinely an amazing animation guide, one of the best I've ever seen, it covers everything making it very simple to understand I wish I learned it all here instead of digging around for these tips long ago, I've been planning on switching to clip studio paint for animation recently and this is just what I needed, thank you dude!
Man the timing on this is incredible - I decided last week that I wanted to learn animation and downloaded a masterclass to learn about general animation techniques and fundamentals, and here you go dropping an HOUR LONG tutorial on how to animate in CSP (which is what I use). Really appreciate your content man~
FINALLY! A tutorial that explains what all the components are in detail and not just use animation lingo as if I am supposed to know what any of it means or does... theres a reason im looking for tutorials y'all... Thank you for this, truly
This is absolutely insane. I can't thank you enough. I've learned bits and pieces of the animation process, but you actually tied it up into a single video where I can apply that knowledge I had previously learned into a tangible workflow. I can't wait to actually start animating soon.
This is phenomenal! You've got an amazing way of pacing your explanations. Not too fast, not too slow. Your style of speaking is very easy to follow for a short attention span, absolutely zero waffling. Instant sub, am blown away. Thank you for making this video!
This is the best Clip Studio Paint animation tutorial by far!! I've been searching for a CSP animation tutorial in this is really explain a lot for me. Thank you so much!! 🙏🙏🙏
I've watched three other videos on animating with clip studio paint and all of them talk way to fast and leave out huge details but this video help so much I'm glad I found it.
OHMYGODYAAAAAAS. I Saw you on CSP's advertising yesterday!! I'm so happy that you uploaded this video and also for your apparition in that advertisement!!!
My confidence reaches its peak when I see your videos. Thanks to you I have made a perfect plan for my future. I'll reach a place where you'll agree to make a collab with me.
I've only ever done small animations using FlipAClip and I am trying to do my first big video so this is so helpful! Learning about these different methods has already helped so much, thank you!!!
I downloaded that application on my iPad from last week for making short animations. Your video may will help me as I keep watching this! You are an angel!
this is such a thoughtful, informative video! im not even halfway thru it yet and ive learned SO MUCH and i feel way less overwhelmed by clip studios entire animation interface, seriously thank you for this!!
im actually so glad i watched this, for some reason i had no idea about the duplicate layer thing, so i was just doing extra steps in order to get my desired thing
I’ve made a few animations with clip studio but haven’t gone too far because there’s no good tutorials on RU-vid, no tutorials show how people color their animations and what not. Hopefully this video explains how to do such! Edit: FINALLY SOMEONE WHO DOES A TUTORIAL ON COLORS AND SHADES!
For God's sake, I skipped the most important bit 'Motion Tweening or In-betweening', and manually drew the motion for 100 frames!!!! Thanks man, you saved me WEEKS of greater pain!!
omg thank you for showing me how to specify frames so i don't have to redraw everything all the time. Im still a little fuzzy on how to color tho with all the vectors and stuff. But dude greatest clip tutorial ever!!
Glad I could help! just understand how to use the fill tool and vector lines thoroughly. have the flat colors on a separate animation folder and another animation folder for the cel-shading. use vector lines to create the path you want to fill in on one layer and the raster layer to fill in the spaces created by the vector lines for shading. vector layer lines + raster layer fills (blending mode and opacity touches) inside a folder INSIDE an animation folder for shading for a cel. it's confusing a bit and hard to explain, but there are many other ways, or you can just follow me thoroughly step by step over and over. Just make sure the raster layer for filling has "fill in vector path on" making it easier to fill. same approach for lights/highlight shading.
Most of this I learned already but it took months and hella videos to get it. This is the best explanation in one vid... I did learn about the vectors and camera movement.. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I was linked to this video when searching for beginner tutorials hoping for just a basic tutorial to follow. At first I was super daunted by the 1 hour timeline, but this was an AMAZING comprehensive tutorial for complete beginners. 10/10! Thank you!
Hands down the best clipstudio animation tutorial I’ve seen. Thank you from starting with the basics I needed that. I’m just now figuring out how to animate in the program. I was a product tester for smith micro on motion artist before they sold and changed manga studio to clip studio. But it seems like clipstudios animation set up is way better.
Very nice work, I actually learned something I didn't know about having a border around a brush in a raster layer. Makes drawing lightning FX that much quicker. One thing i'd mention is to not have the body appear so still, even if you quickly trade 5 or six frames of him standing still, it will feel and look more organic. If you're feeling frisky since he is shirtless a heaving of the chest can add emphasis to mouth movements or even a simple ambient breathing animations adds a lot of depth.
Bruh, my brain is literally fried from watching this, but in a good way lmao! I was following it side by for like 40% of the time, but then it just became to much with all the new information. I can't wait to look back on this when I'm actually a competent animator, let alone illustrator.
I'm nowhere near animating anything ( I'm still learning the basics of drawing) but this is such invaluable information I can't wait for the day I'll do my own animations ! Thank you for the tutorial !!
Well, I'm glad you asked! What I would do is know the 12 principles of animation, first. Next, I would use life action movements for reference. Then, to jazz it up, I would use video games, anime, cartoons and comics for reference. But hopefully, I could learn from you as well.
I love Clip Studio Paint and I've been trying to figure out how the animation works. Needed the basics and you got it covered. This is a really long tutorial so I think I'll be coming back later when I need more insights. Thanks!
So very very informative. I watched one before this and the guy definitely knew what he was talking about but he went so fast it was very confusing. This is by far the best video I've seen on this subject or any tutorial I've watched.
omg.. this is exactly the type of video that i need to learn properly. you taught it so thoroughly and it's literally how i would like my teacher explains everything. LOVE IT.
I am from Myanmar and looking for how to animate anime because there not much about anime style and there are not much animation studios in my country. And I found your video I am really appreciate for the your tutorials. Since I can't afford courses. I wish you the best. Thank you so much.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I've been trying to get better at animation, but I never realized there were so many features in the program to help me with all of this.
I finally had the chance to see this video from start to finish and I'm speechless. I will surely use it as a the ultimate guide to animate in csp! It also showcases even more your incredible skills and consistency of your art style. Thank you so much for this golden content!
I've been wanting to animate on clip studio but it was overwhelming for me but this video was super helpful now I know how to be more efficient thanks so much!
love this video! the only thing i would had added is that if you drag a frame into the folder icon in your layer tab you can make it a folder layer and it helps with timeline management with coloring and stuff so you don't have to have an entire timeline just for flats
Thanks! I'm going to follow it and try my hand at an animation after lunch. If you are still on Twitter and my Sunday isn't hindered by chores, I'll share my progress there before Tuesday, I hope.
I have a cartoon artstyle that’s like a cute pastel gore kinda thing and a slight anime look and I wanna learn how to animate so this helped me a lot thanks!
Thank you for this. I'm using Clip Studio Paint Pro right now to get some basics of animation down, but I'm looking to upgrade to CSP EX so that I can do more animating. This was a well structured tutorial even if there's upgrades and new features 3 years later.
I love everything you do. Please, continue. As an illustrator, 2d animator, working alone at home, you are kind of my co-worker 😅 Thanks again for your videos.
I've finally taken baby steps towards drawing OELM in part because of your videos. I've been wondering how to use CSP to make animations; so, perfect timing. Thank you, my dude.
