For guys complaining because the Cadillac already looks in prestige condition, you guys aren't understanding. Ceramic coating like he says at the start of the video is like a clear coat to protect paint. Sooo you have to make your car look the best possible, clean, clay bar, polish (if needed), before you apply the ceramic coating. You don't apply if on top of a car with dull paint and contaminants.
I do paint correction for a living . This does work well. Especially on bright paints. Essentially its a clear coat for a clear coat a lot more denser than the standard clear coat dirt dust grime can not adhere to it . Washing is a scrub free ideal situation after this.
I recently had a new paint job and all I've placed only sealant on the vehicle so far. I know they say to remove waxes, polishes etc but is it ok to place optimum gloss coat on top of a sealant? I haven't placed any wax on the car yet..
If the coating comes into contact with some plastic trims such as foglight cover or bumper trims, do i need to wipe it off or can those black plastic/chrome trims be coated as well ?
I am looking to apply this to the gel coat of my boat deck. I have a 19’ fiberglass center console fishing boat. I am exhausted with clean up after fishing trips. Will this product work? Will it last with heavy foot traffic?
We wanted this video to focus more on how to apply the ceramic coating instead of how to correct paint. We do have plans in the making to do a paint correction video on a very bad car, so stay tuned. Thanks!
The video would be super long. This get to the point. I highly suggest learning how to compound and polish from RU-vid before applying this. If you don't know how to get your paint to shine or your paint isn't polished, then this coating or any aftermarket coating is really a waste of time.
Michael Hinchey oh ok. Didn't see any comments asking for all of that. But they could have done a panel to see a good before and after to show the product. Good thing I know how to do all the restoration processes being a body shop/collision repair employee and all.
If a car has a few spider webs or towel scratches can I buff polish or wax them to remove them before applying the coating? Or how would I come on that? I did it to one of my car but the paint was always kept well but my second car wasn't that well kept how can i attack this situation with out messing my car up? The one I did it was a 07 tib daily driver and the other one with the scratches is the wife's car 2017 Outlander. Any suggestions or tips? Please and thank you.
On a motorcycle with a tank painted with plain old Duplicolor, will this stuff help protect the paint from damage if gas is spilled on it from overfilling or gas cap leakage, etc.?
How would you go about fixing a light scratch made from metal on a fender that was ceramic coated ? What product could i apply to remove/minimize the scratch without hurting the ceramic coating as much.
estimated for better protection of the paint. Can I apply double layer of auto ceramic coating Mr.FIX9H? or how long after the first application? Thanks if someone answers. regards
Is it thay simple? Almost same method as waxing. I wonder why they charge so much to ceramic coat my vehicle, talked about stage 2 ceramic coated it with 3 layers. Does that mean they just do the process 3 times? Where can i order your product? And what should i need for a complete ceramic coat? Thanks!
Anyone know where I can buy a ceramic sealer at a store tomorrow? I'm getting new wheels and tires put on and I want to seal the wheels before they are put on
By being a detailer, I’ve seen these products come and go. To me it’s nothing but premier defense or zylon. Same principle such as prep, apply, wait 5 minutes then remove. Me personally, I prefer premier defense. As far as maintaining the product, that’s where they get you. You see, if it’s as great as they say, you shouldn’t need to maintain it. The application serves the car surface. Save you money on maintaining the original application. Just do what I do and reapply the coating again. The downside to that is as you can see, they don’t give you much. Go with premier defense. The only thing I don’t like about it is the company says you have to discard it if you don’t use it all, which I find a blatant lie. It’s air activated. I just reuse until is gone. I even went as far as to add premier defense to some generic paint sealant. It forms a really thick lotion that I still use with the basic rules of application. Outstanding protection!!!
coating application skill is at prepping. 4-5 drops could cover half of hood depends on the size. also if you have good lighting high spot is easy to see.
I admit Im too lazy to do this on my own.. plus it would hurt my back do to my back injury (lumbar) Is there any shops that can do this for me? and how much would they charge for the whole car?
So there's no problem using a sealant on top of Opti-GlossCoat? Was thinking of getting my car done with the pro version, this on top and using just a wax or a sealant & wax on top. Would that be ok with both opti gloss and opti pro- gloss- sealant -wax. Still have some jet seal, and colonite. Thanks great video!!!
Could this be done by a mobile detailer? Or does it have to be done in a shop where it's less likely for pollen or dust to get in the way while applying it?
hey, is there different ends for the mytie carpet extractors?. the one on mine is pretty wide and hard to get in smaller spaces, just to put on the end? the metal part.
As far as i have seen , OptiCoat works best for 7 months and then the effects deteriorate (at least in indian version of OptiCoats) . There are better 9H ceramic coating like "HYDRAX ceramic coating" , "Max Protect" Etc which i think people should try . I am saying this as a detailer with 5 yrs of experience .i have used quartz , Mr fix , Detailing Devil , Opti Coat and Ceramic Pro as well .
What if I want to polish a spot on a paint after applying opti coat? Can I polish the spot and reapply other coat on the spot? Will there be noticeable difference?
If you need to polish a spot after coating the vehicle, you will need to prep and re-coat the area you're working on. If applied correctly you should not be able to tell where you had to re-apply the coating.
After your car has been treated with Ceramic Coating and it has had the required amount of time to cure, you can treat the finish like you would a regular car. You can apply wax over it, wash it regularly, etc.
Hello Johnathan! In theory, this product is easy to apply, however it is necessary to be careful and precise to receive excellent results. We sell the product to enthusiasts as well as business owners, so it is definitely possible to apply on your own. If you are looking to apply this product to your own vehicle, we recommend doing some research and watching several videos (like this one) of professionals applying ceramic coatings. If you are worried about dust, we would recommend wiping down each panel prior to applying the product! For any further questions, feel free to give us a call at 724-325-0008! Thanks!
I've just gotten my SUV back from the body shop it was repainted is there any time i have to wait to let the paint cure so i can have it polished and apply this coating or any sealant or wax? @detail kings or anyone?
well i would like to see how the works but in older car thats brand new paint of course it will look great. i do all types of classic porshes, mercedes benz, jaguars in california finnest euro classics.
A lot of people are missing the point. This product is designed to put a shiny layer of protection on your car. You don't put this on screwed up paint. You get your paint as perfect as humanly possible, then put the ceramic coating on to hopefully keep it that way.
And if you really want to step up your game...head on over to Esoteric Detail and watch Todd Cooperrider detail one of his many exotic cars that clients bring in to his shop in Ohio. Thanks for he video.
I need an answer my truck just got egged 6 month old paint , fucked up the pillars between which will be painted black now but how will this hold up to eggs
Hi Graham, Optimum Gloss Coat will definitely help when it comes to eggs. It will make it easier to clean and since the coating is smooth and hydrophobic, most of the egg will likely run off. Due to the coating on the vehicle you have a bit more time to clean off the excess egg on the vehicle but it will still etch through the coating and into the paint over time. However you should have more time to do so if your vehicle is protected with ceramic coating.
I recently had a new paint job and all I've placed only sealant on the vehicle so far. I know they say to remove waxes, polishes etc but is it ok to place optimum gloss coat on top of a sealant? I haven't placed any wax on the car yet..
Hello 305Authority! We do not recommend putting a ceramic coating over a sealant. The ceramic coating is chemically designed to bond to the car's clear coat, so applying it over a sealant would be ineffective. To remove the sealant, simply wipe isopropyl alcohol (diluted 1:1) over the areas of the car that have sealant on them, or do the same with optimum paint prep available on our website. Thanks for the question!
Hello delorean117! A ceramic coating will not protect a car from stone chips. If you are looking to protect your vehicle from stone chips, I would recommend looking into having a clear bra applied to your vehicle! Thanks for the question!
I got my car & friend car done at different coating centers including Always Dry, Ceramic Pro , Opticoat and also used loose available products like Nano4Life from Bangalore , HYDRAX Ceramic Coating from Mumbai and 58XCar from China , Max Protect , Quartz but Only two worked for more than 6 months - 1) Max Protect 2) HYDRAX Ceramic Coating Please do not fall into trap of more than 9H, FIRE PROOF and Glitters . I personally feel betrayed when above effects vanished after 5 months and there is no warranty !
Vehicle was already new and in good shape so found no difference in before and after application of product..would have been better if old vehicle is used...it looks that this product is for new vehicles...
While this coating will not REPEL any dust, it will make removing any contaminants that might get onto the paint easier to remove. In most cases, rinsing with water will remove dust from a vehicle treated with Optimum or Jade Ice.
awesome, thanks. I had an order, which I cancelled because it looks so easy.. that's what made me nervous..LOL. I afraid I will mess up and ruin my paint
