Absolutely didn't talk too much. I think this was one of the best instructional videos I've ever watched on you tube. Completely on topic start to finish. Thank you.
I just washed my mk2 escort shell, sprayed black 2yrs ago and sat under a cover in my garage. Stunning colour, but it is so annoying, after one clean and I can see light swirls. Had to wash the sand beads from under dash panel etc After watching this, I will follow your steps from clay bar, as the wash has a wax in it, I used snow foam. I nearly didn't click as thought a bit long. Think you covered a great deal whilst showing. Thanks, as it second vid I have watched. The first 4 mins long. That left me with questions. The second, well you answered them. Time to check the ceramic I have boat is a proper ceramic and second, check the curing time. Sounds like a bit more science to it, then a wax on wax off application 😂 Watching this.
Didn’t think you talked too much at all. With detail shops charging $3000 for ceramic coatings I’d imagine there’s a good bit of detail to be divulged if you wish to do it yourself. Thanks for the video!
What a fantastic step by step guide o. How to ceramic coat your vehicle and no you didn't talk to much as What you did say was necessary detailed instructions for the complete beginner how to do the job correctly i'm subscribing to your channel and looking forward to learning more about how to detail my car correctly
This seems a lot easier than waxing tbh. Every time I've asked friends if I should ceramic coat my vehicle, they tell me I should pay someone to do it because it's a difficult process and expensive if I mess it up on my own.. lol But as someone who has waxed my cars for the past 10 years... This looks 10x easier and less painful on my shoulders.
Did you end up coating yours ..I'm in same boat ..I've been waxing vehicles for years ..but you talk to people about cerermic coating and they tell you it has to be done by a pro
This is actually a really good tutorial, and i appreciate the in-depth step by step walk through. Definitely not too much talking. Anyone saying that probably has a short attention span, not to be mean, and only wants to see a "Reel" length tutorial.
Thanks mate. You did a fantastic job. I was intimidate about ceramic coating until now. You video was through and indeed comprehensive. I just took delivery of a new M4 Comp. I feel confident now after watching your video to apply the coating. Thanks again mate. 🙂
I've been detailing in general for over a year now and I was never shown you can reactivate ceramic like that. I'm excited to share this information at work and see if anyone even knew.
Actually, I just restored my Mitsubishi PAJERO SFX and was thinking of getting ceramic coating done. But here, they're saying it takes a 2-year course to get it done, and the starting process itself takes a minimum of 2 days. They're asking for 20,000 Indian rupees. But after watching your video, I realized that I can do the ceramic coating at home. Thank u so much
I've used clay bars since 1996. It is a super easy process with a high yield return. You are removing tree sap and micro-metalic magnetized particles from the paint. I presume that the metallic particles likely come from semi metallic brake pad dusting and brake disc wear.
Finished my ceramic coating project today with this product. Used an entire bottle on a 2019 Toyota Tundra. Ceramic app and wipe off is one of the easiest parts. Clay bar is the hardest. I've done clay bar before but on this Tundra there was so much rail dust that it took my almost 4 hours to clay bar all of the rail dust and other contaminants off. Even then, there were a few I couldn't get. Detox coating is the easiest. Overall I'm happy with the process. It was a bit warmer in my garage so flashing I think was a bit faster than 3 to 5 minutes but I tried to be patient and waited close to the 3 minutes in most cases. Interested to see how it repels water, mud, etc.
excellent video. very clear instructions and showing how it is done. I think if you follow the steps you outline, take your time, attention to detail, my truck will look great!!!
Great video, for someone who is a beginner or not, really helpful, easy to understand, and way better than most instructions on the package..thanks for helping me out!
Great video and instruction. The biggest mistake DIYers make with applying coatings is water spots left on the vehicle and applying sealer over them. Remember on your final wipedown, whatever you see after prep is what your paint will look like after coating, I've seen water spots completely ruin the hard work put into the prep but they forgot one important step, use a quality water spot remover!
Yea, wow, it is so complicated. You have to wipe it on your clean car. Who would ever think of that? And the method of application is next level, the wiping on part. Just amazing.
This instructional video was AWESOME man 👍🏽👍🏽 Thanks a million 🙏🏽 New subscriber! .... Not sure if you will see this but I have one question. My car is about 4 years old but I really keep it clean and in good shape. Do I have to have it machine detailed and polished before I can apply ceramic coating myself? I don't own any machines.
I’m looking to do this on my 2019 Tesla Model 3, but I need to touch up some of the paint with rock chip spots, any suggestions on that process to make it to this one? I really appreciate this video and I’m looking forward to doing this myself instead of hiring it out.
Great tutorial. Thanks forbthe thorough explanations. I'm getting a 2024 cavalry blue rav4 in a few days and will be paint correctimg and applying ceramic.
Great video just personally wouldn’t use a ceramic infused product as clay lube. Completely warranted if you’re adding a sealant afterwards but not a coating so it’s bonds better.
Clay pad with finish shine lubricant spray Dry If there’s swirl marks or scratches polish it out to you don’t ceramic the defects Decontamination spray Applicator microfiber pad Ceramic coating onto pad 10-15 drops Start from center and work inwards Wait for flash time Lightly buff coating off with microfiber towel
After I clay I just spray off the remaining lubricant with the hose as i go then dry the whole car with a shammy afterwards. I find its faster and you get the same results by using less towels. Do you agree or is there a reason why you shouldn't do that?
I'm actually thinking about making the jump to doing this but I don't have a climate controlled shop. I'm nervous to apply stuff like this with out a climate controlled area. Your work is outstanding 😊
so easy to do but it cost my friend $4,000.00 going to the dealer to have them do it.. that a ripped off ....so do it yourself like this awesoome instructor did
I don’t have a garage. Can you leave your car outside for it cure ? Can I put car cover right after the ceramic coating? How do you know when you have a high spot ?
Thank you❤ just wanted to ask... what advantage does ceramic coating give me compares to a regular wash? I mean, I work in a place where my car always gets a lot of dust, so it always needs a wash...
This is a great video, thank you so much! I do have one question: can I cover the vehicle with a soft cover after applying the ceramic coating? Does it have to be garaged? Do I need a cover at all? Thank you for the video! :)
If you need to polish your car - what product do you recommend. Everything I’ve seen shows that the decontamination spray would then remove the polish?
Fantastic video! Thank you for putting this together. Perfect level of explanation, for me anyway! I detail boats and cars but never have gone as far as ceramic. I'll be sure to order from your links if you provide them. I have post-ceramic questions, though, that maybe someone can help with. How long does it typically last? Are there certain washing products that should be used after ceramic? Do you buff the ceramic off somehow after so long before applying a fresh coat once it's worn? Is there any sense in doing more than one ceramic coat at a time? Does this completely eliminate the need for wax? Does detail spray hurt it after? Thanks in advance for any advice on the above!
Just got a white 2024 GMC Sierra SLT and will be I doing it myself thanks to your vid. Also, can it safely be applied to my chrome trim and headlights? I already know u can do rims.
Anytime I have claybar’d a car it has marred the paint and you have to polish it. I personally wouldn’t apply a ceramic coating until the car has been polished
Funny thing is, unless your car is from the 1950's, ceramic coatings don't do all that much. Clear coat was invented in the 70's to do this job. It even has UV blockers. If you really want to have nice looking paint, wash and dry with a soft cloth when dirty and clay bar and lightly wax twice a year. My paint looks like new.
The product flashing refers to the solvents in the coating reacting to the atmosphere and allowing the product to bond to the surface. Usually when this happens you will notice a rainbow like effect on the coating (Some coatings are more pronounced than others). Its ready to wipe off once the flashing has died down or diminished and the coating has bonded to the surface. Each coating will vary on the flash time so its best to follow the manufacturers instructions.
