I think you done great... i be doing my own nails and designs as well... but one advice to you sweetie... after you glue your nails... file it down a little on top... thats why you can see the the tip through the acrylic... one day you might own your own nail salon... 😉
Nice! Good job but just a little tip, you might want to file down your nail bed by your cuticles so it can look nice and smooth on the bottom. It has helped me a lot! I recommend getting a nail drill, is so much easier and quicker!
What color are your nail tips?? White, clear or natural?? 😬 I wanna know which to get if I'm just going to polish them like you did. I'm not sure if it matters if I use white or clear but I wanted to know what color yours were.
I got mine in a random shop in Ireland but apparently Amazon number 8 round brush is the best! A nail technician commented down below and recommended it
+Amy Connaughton yea make sure its kolinsky sable they are design for acrylic use I'm currently doing my nail course and think for a beginner you great i was like that at first don't listen to all the haters keep going :)
I get she's not a professional. But you should atleast do some research online before you make a RU-vid "tutorial". 🙄 especially when it comes to the safety and/or sanitary aspect of it; it's just as bad as spreading false information. You should absolutely NEVER put primer or acrylic monomers on the cuticle or skin. That's just asking for contact dermatitis. Also just a tip, acrylic doesn't stick to cuticles/skin which causes lifting so you have to be very careful around that area and slowly fade it out with the most product being on the smile line -where the fake nail meets the natural nail- for support. (So your tips won't break off as easily) 🙃
You did great but not trying to be rude just trying to help out but you used a little too much liquid to make your bead try using a little less next time
I'm only 13 and I know what the nail tools you are using are called, but I would suggest that you should do some research before up loading videos yourself and watch some other videos so that when you make a video for your subscribers, they actually know how to do it more professionally... but I think you did well.
Omg no no! I'm a licensed nail tech and Don't file your natural nail beds! You just need to buff them. And you should use more nail prep then the primer bc you could get nail fungus that way. But I must say, you're actually pretty good at applying acrylic! Just be careful
Thanks so much for the tips! I lightly buff my nails now because all the comments are telling me I've been filling way too hard haha woops! Thanks for watching :)
I am a nail tech and you want to be very careful with the primer for your nails, it can cause damage to your skin if overused. one dip is enough for one full hand!
Hi, I'm a nail tech and the advice given by another nail tech is good. I would also get yourself a good brush which you can dry into a smooth point. Your brush is leaving tram lines in your acrylic. I would recommend a size 10 or 12 kolonski brush which are readily available on Amazon. Well done Though! X
I don't I'm sorry! But they're usually more pricey than synthetic so if you're looking online that can help you, maybe the other ladies who commented can help :)
Just a little tip that I learned in nail school to make the tip appear more natural and flat to the nail you take a file and lightly file where the bottom of the tip meets the natural nail just right on that line so that it becomes a smooth surface and blends in. It will also help the tip to stay on longer.
Jasmine Rose What do you suggest to reduce harm? That would actually help bc telling us it's dangerous can doesn't explain bc what to do to minimize that.
Kendall Thomass there's a channel called Nail Career Education her first video is her talking about how to put acrylic on your less prominent hand I hope her video helps you out
Hahah yes!! Thank you! A lot of people are giving me tips and leaving constructive criticism which I love but there's also a lot of people leaving unhelpful rude comments! Just goes to show the personalities of people, thanks for watching girl :)
Keep your head up when dealing with the haters my dear. You are doing fine. Just remember 2 things, you are not the idiot whisperer, and this is your channel. So I guess you can post whatever you like and others can either watch or don't. Life is 2 short to be as happy as you can. Forget the rest👍🏻😁
+emø tøp Hahah yeah from reading loads of the comments I'm now realising that I shouldn't be doing it so hard! Next time I do my nails I'm gonna file them much softer!
Hi Amy, I am a licensed nail tech and have a couple suggestions for your application, First you need to lightly buff the natural nail not as you did in this video, you will damage the nails. Second, you will find that if you blended the tip at the egde attached to the nail, you will not have such a ridge there. It also helps the acrylic adhere to a larger area of the nail plate. Third, please please please stop flooding your nail bed/cuticle with the primer. That is going to cause you problems in the long run. And lastly, by watching this video, it seems that you are using a product that is self leveling. Meaning you do not need to push the product as you do, let the product sit on the nail plate for a few seconds, then push/lightly pat the product where it needs to go It will also give you a more finished nail that need less filing. You may even get away with just a buffing. Happy nailing!!!!
+Genie Wingo Hi! Ahh thank you so much for the tips! I find that the more I do it, the better I get at it but also still learning new things each time! I have been buffing the nail quite rough but I will do it softer next time and same with applying the primer! The self leveling thing would make sense, I used to think that it was just very drippy haha but yes thank you so much for all the helpful pointers and I will take them on board next time I do my nails! :) Thanks so much for watching!
+Amy Connaughton Anytime hon. I cringe thinking that someone is out there doing damage to themselves and not knowing they are doing it. I always try to help when I can. I know not everyone has the time or money to go get the education needed to be safe in applying acrylic.Knowledge is power and I share mine when I can. I have a suggestion of a woman's videos I have watched that has very good education tips. Nail Career Education is who I subscribed to. She has very good information on about everything from caring for brushes to products to applications. Happy Nailing! :D
getting your nails done damages your nails period. I knew somone would try to say that. I hate getting my nails done bc they are crap after. thank goodness I found this video her nails look way better after she took them off than I have ever had mine after they are removed.
I think you did a pretty good job. Well done hunni. I went to nail college with people who couldn't even get a result like this at the end of them qualifying so well done. PS I think you are very beautiful. Hope you have a great day x
aw thanks so much! Such a sweet comment :) Yeah sure I'm not a professional and I know there's a lot wrong with what I do but a lot of people wanted me to make a video so I did! Thanks for the nice comment, really appreciate it! Whereas there are other people who just love to slate others! Thanks for watching :)
all the comments that have been left for you to do this or do that just annoyed me I think. Let alone all the hateful comments. People are so nasty at times. Like I said I think you did a good job and I like to be positive towards people so I left you a nice comment. Keep smiling and doing your thing hunni x
she is self taught yes she had many things you don't do but as time goes on with great teachers on RU-vid such as nailcareered she will do great. And after all she is practicing on herself... keep it up. oh and ps cute color.
+Mary hotmail Simkins she said she done that for a while.. Which means the same techniques, so it wouldn't even matter, she's just doing the same techniques but getting better at it.
😂..girl your not the only one but on my second attempt i found that if you let the brush soak too much liquid when i place the gel it was way too watery and it was Not drying to a hard shell, also i had bumps on my nails like a fucking camel but using a block file the the nail file machine did miracles lol.
I ended up ordering new brushes I hope that makes it a TAD easier :( lol I had crappy like pointed ones. They're for acrylics but looked so much like paint brushes I should of known they be a terrible thing to use for a beginner who already knows jack shit
I just followed the steps from your video and my nails turned out great! I tried doing my own acrylics about 6 months ago and it was awful. Your tips helped so much! Your makeup is perfection and you're gorgeous btw, hope to see more videos from you ☺️
You can file the natural nails with a file, but u must use a light one and not that hard one she used! (=_=) I cringed too! But even when she put on her nail tips in that horrible way not filing the gap and the rest of bad things she did!
+Taanipu Saiyan oh my bad I thought you weren't supposed to use a file at all! I think I'm just scared to even if it's light. but yeah she went crazy on her nails!!
Shayla Hickman well I'm scared too of files on natural nails so that's why I file very very lightly and gently and using only a light file! The file we use in my school it's very light, so light that it's close to a buffer! But using strong files on natural nails like this girl did it's really bad and damages the nails!!!
Yeah I've been reading all these comments and now realising that I've been filing way too hard!! woops, literally never realised but now I've been filing way softer! Thanks for the tips! :)
Please please please stop doing that to your natural nails!😬 Use a fine grit file & try not to go across your nails. Just up & down in the direction of the nail growth, gently. Also, you really only need to take the shine off. This will help with the health of your natural nails immensely, as will doing refills rather than a whole new set every fortnight- though I do understand the desire for a whole new, fresh set every time- I've been guilty of it myself! Lol! Maybe try a bigger brush & therefore bigger beads/balls of product & avoid the painting motion like with a polish. Try patting (with your finger angled downward so gravity works to help you) until it starts to set up a little & then you can swipe. Always clean your brush & dip it in monomer, shape it & store it like that- it will keep your brush in good condition. Hope this helps!☺️
Thank you so much for all the tips! Yes I've been filing very lightly from now on after reading all these comments but yes I do need to invest in a new good brush and I'll do the dabbing motion rather than the brushing motion in the future! Thanks a lot for the helpful constructive criticism, appreciate it! And thanks for watching :) X
+Amy Connaughton No problem! I hope they were helpful & made sense- it's hard to explain what you mean in text! Lol! Anyway, I'm all for anyone who wants to learn to do things for themselves at home- screw giving your hard earned money away to others! Especially when it's giving you a whole new skill! Keep it up, you're certainly not doing a bad job for someone who hasn't had any training!😊
Fallinupintolove Aw thank you! Yes I do have a tutorial for this makeup! If you look through the videos it should be near enough the most recent ones! :)
there's a reason why we study to be a nail technician. DO NOT STICK NAILS ON BLEEDING FINGERNAILS. then every nail.was put on far to far down the nail plate. pay the extra and get a nail.tech to do it.
I just bought my first acrylic kit and honestly, thinking there's no way I could pull this off, I was going to return it. But your video has inspired me to give it a go. Your nails are lovely.
You weren't lying about the warning. My goodness! I thought I was bad. SO bad, I be afraid of causing myself an infection. You did great as a beginner and I truly appreciate your video. Reminds me of myself. Without acrylic nails, I chew them fingers until they're ready to bleed to death.
+Makya Brooks the point is that you don't have to care what I comment ... I do it to inform the youtuber and if I don't care then don't read the comments
