How to apply for International Driving License?

Parivahan website: parivahan.gov....
Remember documents needed when going to RTO:
1. Application Reference Slip
2. CMV Form 1
3. Adhar card (with signature at bottom)
4. Passport (with signature at bottom)
5. Visa (with signature at bottom)
6. Driving license (front and back) (with signature at bottom)
7. Flight Tickets (they might ask, not mandatory)
I know I have not shown the process on how to fill up the form. So if you are having any doubt while filling please comment down below. I will try to reply as soon as possible.

After getting application acknowledgment, I was trying to download pre filled application form, it keeps saying, it can’t be processed right now, server issue then form 1A also is not downloading Do we need to go to any medical to get form 1a?

@@satvikpaul8207 No response, nothing. I paid the money to rto for no good, went onsite and luckily they allowed with indian license without international permit

This is not the procedure now its changed I think. Its over 10 days over since I applied but in pondichery RTO they are asking police clearance certificate, asking, Canadian driving rule printouts, and sone other irrelevant documents which is no where mentioned on gov.. site. Also they said they will approve only a week before my flight date that too I have to drive and show they are telling. But nothing like this is mentioned in Pharivagan site, is this even le or these f ppls just wasting my time. Plz rpy bro! Anyone took IDP recently?

This was not the case for me a year back. It could be that they have changed the process a bit. Or maybe the changes are only done for people applying from your state. I would say tell them that you booked your IDP online and in that they have not mentioned anything about these documents.

The state that I’m applying from (Karnataka) is different from the state my license is originally from (Kerala). Although, all my other documents mention my Karnataka address since I recently changed it. Will I be able to get this done here or would I need to travel to Kerala for it?

Just go to the RTO the next day. You can inquire this there. And complete the next steps if required

In that case. You will issued a temporary visa. Once you land in that country. Just go to the help desk of immigration. They will tell you the steps. But make sure you have checked all the on arrival visa requirements before going.

Every country has their own conditions. So better to check on their government website. But for most cases, just a international driving permit for that specific country should be enough.

IDL is in a A4 size paper format or its like a booklet as from RTO they given me in a A4 size paper

Sorry, when you go to the RTO for all the steps. Once all steps are completed then you would get the IDP in A4 size paper. With indian stamp and RTO stamp.

Ok i just checked my application form. So i selected MCWG, LMV in COVs. There should be an option to select both of these.

For which country you applied ? and also, is IDP on A4 sheet valid?

I applied for the United States. I think it should be valid as that's what the government is giving as proof. Otherwise check the country laws for which you are applying for the IDP for and see if they accept IDP from India.
