OMG you are a lifesaver! I was planning on traveling to the Turkish embassy next month to see about applying for residency. I will just do it in when I get to Turkey. THANKS!!
Super! Yeah, don’t go to the embassy, they will not help you because is not in their hands doing the residency procedure, everything must be done here. I’m so glad to know that these videos are helping you with your questions before moving to Turkey 🎉🎉
Hope this video helps! Here are the official links for this process: ⬇️⬇️ OFFICIAL WEBSITE FOR PROCESSING THE RESIDENCE PERMIT FORM: e-ikamet.goc.gov.tr/ OFFICIAL DOCUMENT WITH THE DOCUMENTS NEEDED FOR EACH TYPE OF RESIDENCE PERMIT: e-ikamet.goc.gov.tr/Ikamet/BasvuruIstenenBelgeler/BasvuruFormuIstenenBelgeler?tur=0 If you are looking for a reliable and trustworthy agency to help you processing your residence permit from beginning to end, then we highly recommend you this agency: ikamet.com/contact
First of all would like to thank you for providing such informative video. Can you please differentiate between Tourist & Family visa for first time appliers, can someone apply for Family visa if he or she intends to settle in Turkey for children education, buying property at later stage etc... Can you please advise on above. Thanking you in advance. Best Regards..
I have a question. Firstly, allow me to thank you for this video. It has been the most detailed, informative, and helpful video I have found on this matter. Onto my question: I am currently in Turkey as a tourist with a 90-day visa and applying for my ikamet. Now that I am in the stages of touring apartments, I am worried because I don’t know what should be my move-in and move-out dates my apartment. Do I have to lease my apartment for the exact dates of my ikamet validity? I ask this because I don’t know when my ikamet appointment will be, so what if I sign an apartment lease tomorrow with the move-in date being next month, but I don’t get my ikamet appointment until TWO months from now? (i.e. what if my apartment rental officially begins BEFORE my ikamet appointment?)
Thank you for that detailed information. But how about health and medical insurance? how and where can I get that in turkey since it is required for the Residence permit.
Great video! It's ashame you didn't cover the appointment side with greater depth. I heard some immigration offices have quicker appointment times depending on the city. For example in Istanbul it may take 3 months to get an appointment but in Izmir for example it could be 1 month. Please confirm if you agree?
Is totally true. I also experienced it during my first year in Turkey. I lived in a small city in the Black Sea region, I applied for my appointment, it was given just 3 days later, and 2 weeks later I received my card. But in Istanbul the story is totally different 😀 Is also about luck, because just today I received the email from the Immigration Office, and my appointment was given for the 6th of September, we applied just a few days ago. But previous years, I waited for 1-2 months just for it.
@@BeryIstanbulTips Hi! Very informative video! I just wanna know what will happen if in case I apply and got an appointment 2 months away, but my visa is expiring in 2 weeks--as you said I can still travel around while waiting for the appointment, but what if I decided to leave and go home to my country? Will it be marked as overstaying in Turkey instead since I didn't push through with the appointment?
HI THank yoi.Very informative however one question do you need to take out and pay for medical insurance prior to applying? if you do do you pay a year of medical insurance?
Excellent.. any ideas for me here now winter. Had big plans but raining. I was shocked that it was so straightforward for me. I m not usually lucky with visas but so good even very reassuring 24 hour helpline to check progress.
Hola Bere!
Thanks for the informative and useful video. I've been in Istanbul for two weeks. Just to clarify - if I complete the application and my interview appointment is scheduled for a date that's more than three months from now, am I legally allowed to stay in Turkey for more than three months?
Hi ,I am planning to move Istanbul with my family .I found your video very helpful but I have some questions to ask.I would really appreciate if you could reply me with the answers.*Could you please elaborate what kind of documents required to show them on appointment.*Any proof of finances are required if we are not started work in Istanbul.Kind Regards Muhammad
Hai... your videos are nice and very usefull. İ have a question. For example i will get married with Turkish in Turkey and will stay there and i come with free visa. What should i do first when i get there? Should i make my ikamet first or goverment nikkah first?
I have 2 questions if I may ask. 1. Can a touristic permit be changed in the 2nd year if during the first year I buy a property 2. Do you know anyone reliable who would provide services for doing all the paperwork as I also need a tax number, open a bank account and convert my overseas drivers license to a Turkish one.
Is there English when filling out the form? Where can I go to print it out (I am staying in a hotel)? How do I get a biometric photo to upload? How do I show that I have sufficient funds financially when I don't have a Turkish bank account?
Hi Beri, what kind of document that we need to stand by? Bank indefinitely? Can we apply when we are in own country via their mention website? Thanks for the sharing & waiting for your favourable reply.
As I mentioned in the video, you cannot apply to the residence permit outside of Turkey. You must be here. For the documents needed, they are all listed in the document I share, the link is on the pinned comment. But to prove having sufficient and regular financial means throughout the stay, a bank document is more than enough. This is the link to the documents: ⬇️⬇️ e-ikamet.goc.gov.tr/Ikamet/BasvuruIstenenBelgeler/BasvuruFormuIstenenBelgeler?tur=0
Una persona con visa de corta duración de un año con fines turísticos y mostrando documentos que se puede mantener es posible le vuelvan a dar residencia de corta duración siempre que la pida ?
Hey. I'm trying to fill my residence permit form online but doesn't accept the address. It says the address i am putting is closed for residence permit application. What can i do.
If is your first time application there’s no way around. There are tons of neighborhoods closed for first time applications. You must find a place at a neighborhood that is still open for ikamet.
Hi.💕 This video landed on my homepage and after watching the video and reading the comments a bit, I was really confused. I am Turkish and I was born and raised in Turkey, I have been here for 22 years, I have never been abroad. And I want more than anything to run away from this country. I really don't like being here. Economic problems, hikes and taxes, bad news and injustices really bother me. Unlike me, I don't understand why so many foreign people want to come to this country. Of course, these are everyone's own lives and their own decisions. But what is the positive side and beauty of this country that I haven't seen in 22 years? Please tell me too, I really need a reason to love my country of citizenship.☹️ So if we can trade citizenship, I'd be happy to swap places with someone who wants to come here.😬
They always say the grass is a lot greener on the other side- I think a lot of young people want to leave their country no matter where it is. I'm from the united states and I want to come to turkey because the culture is beautiful and everything is cheap for those who earn USD. Please understand that foreigners are not affected by politics like local Turks, we aren't affected by economic problems or injustices so it is a HUGE privilege for a foreigner to live in turkey compared to a local. I recognize that it's very unfair for us to benefit this way when locals suffer
How to apply for jobs in turkey,is it possible to get a job before entering turkey or only in person..scope for architect & interior designer job ?? Salary & how to get a job

Hi Bery! Thanks for the very informative video. I'm here in Turkey and trying to apply for residency but my passport validation is less than a year. Is it possible to apply for in my case?
I Have a Question I have Residence permit but It will expire in 12 days and i am out of country right now Tell me If i will go back turkey can i enter in country or I will be to apply for New Residence permit?
hello. i have tried to apply but everytime it says there is a double application but i dont have it nor did i do it. do u kniw how to fix that. thank you
Hello Bery. Thank you very much for such a great informative video. I absolutely love all your videos. One question I have regarding the Ikamet. What happens if I apply and the date for interview takes months, in the meantime my vacation is over? Thank you in advance!!
Hi! Thank you for watching us! As long as you already have your appointment done you can stay in the country, you’re not ilegal or anything like that. Just you cannot leave the country until you get your residence permit, otherwise, the procedure will automatically be cancelled.
Two questions pls: 1) What is the difference between KIMLIK and IKAMAT? 2) Residence Permit thru buying property, does it come under KIMLIK or IKAMAT? Is a short term residency or long term and for how much time is it valid for? Thanks.
Kimlik means ID, is a common word used here, when you go to a place and they want you to show your ID, they will say “kimlik” in our case, we will show our ikamet. For that specific reason, I don’t know what’s the process like when buying a property. Sorry! I’m only sharing things according to my own experience. Hope you find what you’re looking for 🙏
Hello ! Sorry but I have a question The permit is in processing, can I leave turkey before it finishes processing ? I heard that it was not possible to do so but it changed later yet I am not sure if it was true or not.
What a good timing, earlier today I was checking about this visa. Thank you very much! Do you have any recommendation about the health insurance? Also, do I have to apply for this while I am still in my country or only once I am in Turkey? Thank you in advance
If I apply for the tourist ikamet and they give me the appointment after 3 months, can I still travel abroad and come back freely or will I have to pay any fine? Thanks for the video!
I read that if you're under 18 or over 65 you don't have to show proof of insurance. Is this true? Also, potential landlords have wanted to see my residence permit before renting me an apartment, but you have to show an address just to apply for the permit It's sort of a Catch 22.
Hi Roger! I’m not sure about your first question, I haven’t heard anything about it to be honest, but it could be. In regards to the landlords, that’s quite strange, many of them already know that we are being requested to show a notarized rental contract in order to apply for our residence permit, but I don’t doubt that some just love making things harder for us. I hope you find a place where they’ll provide you the necessary documents without hesitation. 🙏
Hi! I have overstayed with my family in turkey for over three months and we have paid our fine while leaving and they didn't tell us about any entry ban. We returned back about a week later and we stopped by immigration and they told us we have ten days to file for our permanent residence. My dad has already filed the form and he has it on his phone, but what will happen when the ten days expire? We have a three month visa but i dont know if we will be fine. I need advice because i am freaking out 😅
Hi! so you said that i can only apply from Turkey but in documents required there are some documents that i can only bring from my country like ( no criminal paper for example) , should i bring that document from my country before i come to Turkey or i don't have to?
@@BeryIstanbulTips thanks. And the tourist sport term is one year. What happens after that, year? I can aply again before the year finish or I have to exit the country ?
