The air bubbles will cause lifting and allows moisture to get under nails which can cause them to pop off and break easily so be sure to get a full seal. I would apply the glue to the fake nail and real nail and make sure the nail fits the finger from sidewall to side wall. If it laps over file it a bit to get the correct shape never use a nail thats too small. Go bigger and file it down. Also you dont want the false nail sitting against the cuticle because if it does get pulled off which I've seen happen it can tear the skin at the cuticle which isnt pleasent.
I have narrow nail beds so I find that often times the nail os to wide for my natural nail. Do I file the sides of the fake acrylic nails before or after I apply them?
@@bbkayy1854 👋 Hey 😆 I forgot what we were talking about for A minute this was an old reply 😳. With artificial tips and full covers tips I always trim them to size with flat edge nail clippers and file before application. Its harder to get A good fit and file them after application if they are over the side wall area and it can cause the glue to run over on the skin and you to cut yourself with A hand file if your not careful. They shoul fit side to side without being forced or they will lift up after application. I hope this helps answer your question ❤️.
This all I wear is glue on nails! I found it’s easier to paint them before so I got the nail holders from Amazon, I get the glue dots from Michaels, got a lamp now I have gel nails that are easier to do, add embellishments, then glue them on. I got tired of cleaning around the cuticles with acetone as it really dries them out . Love your channel by the way. Found it from The Polish Queen
What is a glue dot? And why didn’t I think of painting mine beforehand? That’s probably a game-changer! Going to order those nail holders now! Thank you!
Kathy Glue dots are literally just dots that are sticky so you can attach the nails to the holder! You can also get blue stuff called like blue tac or tacky or something (: If you havent bought it yet, there are also display stands that are fingers so you can just put the nail inside of the cuticle and work on the finger ones!
Ok might be a stupid question but if you need the nails really dry (the reason you use the wipes) then why even put the "cuticle oil" on in the first place?
Thank you for making this video. My mom passed away on 12-3😔 so my sister convinced me to go with her to a salon to have our nails done like this for the funeral. I paid $35 + $5 tip but I didn't notice till later that my pinky nails were too small and didn't match my real nails making them look bad. Then the nails started falling off before a week even passed. I'd been so upset for the loss of my mom and the loss of my dad in September I just didn't go back. You make it look so easy I may try it myself. At least they will last longer than a week. Thank you. Hope you have a Merry Christmas. It just won't never be the same for me anymore. Thank you for the tips.
My daughter make me obsesse with press on nails I use to go to the nail salon was obsesses with the salon but now get done only if I’am a wedding but for now press on for life they have some really pretty nice styles! Thank you for sharing your video❤️
I’ve been using these nails for a very long time, and everything you said is absolutely correct and excellent advice! I just wanted to add that Dollar Tree carries the Kiss Nail Glue, and they also have those alcohol prep pads. The tip you gave about putting some glue down the back of the mail is a really good trick. It not only helps the nails stay glued on longer, but it also helps keep moisture out. Using gloves when you wash dishes, or do anything else that requires you to have your hands in water also helps them last longer. I love these nails, they always look good, and I often get compliments on them. I used acrylics for years and years, which totally trashed my nails. These are a Godsend to me; they are the only kind of artificial nails I can wear. Thank you for an excellent video! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you! Lots of good tips. I end up with glue all over my fingers and fingers sticking together and/or get stuck to the outside of the nail and it comes right off. So I end up going to work having some nails on and the others are like a war zone!!!
This has helped me so much. Im going out in two weeks dressed as a girl for the first time with my friends and i want to look hot so im really taking guidance from expert ladies.
Great tutorial!!! Brush on glue is EVERYTHING! 🙌 I recently put on fake nails after many years of not wearing them. I have strong, long growing natural nails so I usually don't worry. Anyway, it was a nightmare for me!!! I had the HARDEST time gluing them on with my non-dominant hand.😅 But I'd like to try your tips sometime and see how I do!
I've recently started wearing this kind of fake nail, and I find I like to use nails that are just a tiny fraction less wide than my normal nail bed. One the polish is on, you don't notice, but it definitely makes your nail bed look a bit narrower (which makes your fingers look longer and narrower, even if you don't use super-long fake nails) and IMO it actually looks more natural, because it avoids that weird giant-nail thing that makes so many fake nails look fake.
Thank you! Me and my sister bought these fake nails from Shoppee and we had, NO IDEA on how to apply these nails. I only ever use these at occasions, or at least when I want to.
As a Kiss gal here I approve this message! Tip- keep your nails/ glue/little file in a mini caboodle. So if one pops off, bae bae go to the bathroom n glue one back on!! 🙌
I've been doing my nails like this for many years now. Kiss brand nails are the best . But I brush on base coat and cure each nail for 30 seconds. They stay on so well I have to use great effort to get them off. I now use the already colored nail
Thank U I tried her technique over 25 years ago & never last Now since I'm up 2 $60-$70 & the virus I need 2 learn how 2 put them on with staying power @ least 2 weeks What base coat & how do they cure? Thank U 💕
I tried false nails for the first time today and filed them right down to just over 'normal so I can get used to them, after a lifetime of no nails lol. You vid helped, thanks. What I will say is, what I learnt, is that if you are not sure which is the right nail size, go for the slightly smaller option. Smaller nails look daintier and fingers longer. I should of used the smaller on some of mine, as the 'right' (nearest) teeny tiny larger size makes my nails look obviously fake. I did file some of them down, not all, to the right shape for my nail bed/cuticle and the ones where I filed the sides down a fraction look really very realistic, as I filed them to fit my natural nail size
I'm waiting for an order of the tube glue. I wish I would have seen your video before I bought the tubes. [ SIGH ]. How do I apply that glue so it doesn't come out "bumpy"? Way much thanks!!!
Interesting that they last so long since you have so many air bubbles under the fake nail... I find that all that air causes the nail to come off sooner and water gets in and causes water air bubbles.
This is really good because like kids could like get some fake nails and like I don’t know how to do it and like just watch her because she’s awesome at it and I love the red ❤❤
Wow!! I love this video!! Very helpful and informative!! I'm a nail biter. This is what I need to help me have some nice nails. I would love to stop biting my nails, once and for all. But, I don't know how to stop biting them. It's a bad habit that I need to kick. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!! 💖
@@joselyngomez4163 I had them on for like 4 days and my fake nails started to break of by then and then i saw the green. Any tips would be so helpful, thank you?
Amina C it sounds like a sort of fungus ? maybe the glue or maybe something got caught in between and started rotting ? Im not too sure but i recommend jojoba nail oil if your nails got damaged that helps them regain strength
Sounds like you got greenies! Happens when you have bubbles under the nail that traps water and grows fungus. Make sure not to leave bubbled nails on or you’ll get it
Wow! That was really very helpful, I recently bought those nails, was wondering how I was gonna get them to stay on, as I work in water alot, so thanks for the tips.
Ladies DO NOT file your nail plate sideways with a nail file!!!! Unless you want to damage so much that you are at risk of getting contact dermatitis!!
Thank you so much! My first time trying glue on and they look okay. That’s on me though because it’s my first time. I will definitely keep on with your way.
After you press the nail on, rock the nail side to side with the finger you’re using to press down. It removes the air bubbles. Good video, the open space at the bottom of your nail above your cuticle was not attractive- to me. No offense, I just like to slide mine all the way down.
How would someone with sensory processing disorder get around the nail filing. That’s one thing I can’t stand when having my nails done. The texture makes my hands curl up because my nervous tenses up from the sensory overload.
Applying glue to the back of the nail as well as your finger help seal the nail better on you've got to push out all of the air bubbles I know you were in a hurry just trying to get this video out great job
Can I do this when I have thin small nails from biting them all the time? Or should I wait abit and try not to bite them. I have these glue on nails sitting around and I think if I used them it would help me not bite and I'd be able to grow my nails and strengthen them? What do you think?
I'm a nail biter so I got myself some press on nails and used gel nail glue to stick them on, they last a few weeks and my nails grew for the first time in years! I would definitely recommend using them 🙂
Every time I do these, I get the same air bubbles under the nail that I see you have too. Mine never last because of those since they are not fully on and connected. How do you get yours to stay even with those air pockets?
How do you get extra glue off the top of the nails…I have some that look so smudgy😢 I think a brush on glue will help so that there’s not so much extra next time but for now any tips on how to make the nails look smooth?
