How To Apply: Olaplex no.0 and no.3 

I always search the shortest length videos. 😅 On some subjects I like a good long video. On instructionals just give me the steps please. This video was perfect!

Dry dirty hair application huh

You’re supposed to use on clean dry hair so washing with a clarifying shampoo first is recommended. Otherwise the product will not penetrate the hair past hair products. I’m guessing if you don’t use leave in products then should be fine to use without washing.

I know right? I can’t believe it says ten minutes on the box, when actual hairdressers are recommending to leave it on over-night. Imagine how much money we would have literally poured down the drain if we hadn’t seen this video.

It would be better to put a cap (or even cling wrap, similar to when bleaching) on your head after application to keep the moisture and heat in your scalp for as long as possible.

Its been 4 months since you asked and probably don't need to know anymore but ill answer for others. The bleach will literally strip EVERYTHING out of your hair. I always do my hair treatments after the bleaching. I suggest starting some kind of hair treatment right away. I didnt and i have places where it snapped off. I have little tuffies all over my head. Mostly the crown and base of the neck but i found a few mid scalp. So if you bleach take care of your hair. Lots of moisture.

Does the number 0 and 3 have to be 100% have to be shampooed out.

@@TracyD2 Yes it does! They are treatments and are designed to be effective once shampooed from the hair. You can use No. 8 and rinse from your hair and then apply our leave in, No. 6 for best results.

You should first cleanse your scalp properly so the products can work better and help you achieve the results you want Neutrogena anti residue shampoo is the best before using these products I hope it helps

It says on the tubes and on the site. I spent 65 dollars for #0, #3 and the shampoo and conditioner. It came in a kit, but honestly I'm a little bit upset that they aren't filled to the very top. The company is very greedy giving you SAMPLE SIZE amounts. They tell you to apply a generous amount 1 to 2 time a week which is LAUGHABLE! Not sure how you apply a generous amount with a bottle that's big enough for one time use! Honestly not fair for the money I paid. So I would say that you're not going to get much use out of them and they won't last maybe but using them for two separate showers. I'm sure they are a billion dollar company because they charge that kind of cash for sample sizes.

You always use shampoo and conditioner after number 3. Says so on the bottle. It’s not a leave in product. She’s just saying that she leaves hers in longer than 10 minutes before washing.

Yes, that’s what I do. You really don’t need that stuff sitting on your scalp anyway

I have the same problem! I poured it into a spray bottle & it seems I use less now to get my whole head damp. Maybe less waste bc I was struggling with that nozzle top. Still would like to use more but my budget won't allow it lol

@@KweenTP yes my hair is so thick and I want to be able to treat every strand. the spray bottle is a smart idea. I’m gonna try that !

@@bellanoire2271 I'm so glad! I thought I was being silly but I can't cover my whole head with that nozzle. I just get one of those .99 cent bottles & I'm getting much more longevity out of it using the fine mist spray option. 💜

I think its better to first shampoo and condition your hait than let them dry and then put 0 and 3 and rinse and thats it. That way all the product stays

I prefer to apply it to clean hair. Some substancesbuild up in the hair and prevent new substances from working

If you are using #3 with #0 then you should make sure your hair is clean. For #3 it says to apply to clean hair so it can work. I heard something about the ingredients can’t get through build up

Nope even go to the moisture mask they came out puts NO moisture into my hair.. so I'm switching back to my monat

I have thick curly hair too I mix the zero and the number 3 together it saves a lot of product and gives you a lot of slip!

Same here! The zero only gives me 2 applications IF LUCKY!☹ BUT SO WORTH IT! HUGE DIFFERENCE FOR ME, when I use both the 0 & 3 as opposed to the 3 ONLY!

U use 0 and 3 together then rinse. Don’t rinse 0 out first.

No 0 for 10 mins, then add No 3. Do not rinse!

@@melanielopez3472 I use Kerastase or Briogeo kale+apple shampoo to wash off Olaplex No.3. Any good sulphate free shampoo can be used which works for your hair type.

Yes you can! Olaplex is amazing for hair extensions. Just keep the product away from the point of application!

the formulation only has a half life of 45 minutes so keeping it on any longer dosen’t do anything

No.1 and 2 are for in salon use only so you can’t purchase them to use them at home. They came out with No.0 as a kind of substitute for No.1 and 2 which people can use at home themselves to get similar results and it best works combined with No.3.

You can if you want but it’s 68% more effective with no.3

It doesn’t work..Either use it with no.3 or use no.3 alone.No.0 accelerates the action of no.3.No effect when used on its own.

Shampoo it out then condition. That is their directions but I do wonder why it has to be shampooed out. I just ask them.

@@kaylinwhalen9789 I did! I called customer service and they verified that it can do more damage than good when leaving it in your hair overnight. It is meant to be rinsed out.... not left in long term.

I guess I'm one of the ones that does better when left on overnight. Everytime I've only left it on for 15 minutes to an hour I would see no results no difference. When I left it on overnight is when I seen a big difference every time.

Why not? For curiosity I do leave it for hours in a shower cap and I have seen better results from it than leaving it for less than 30 min.

Im not a hairdresser but I have heard from a hairdresser that leaving olaplex no3 on for more than 45 mins can damage your hair because too much will cause your hair to snap too through over strengthening it. I also heard the alcohol in the products will actually start to dry out your hair after that period of time. Olaplex is a bond builder not a conditioner so it’s to be used differently but it probably depends on your hair type.

My hair colorist said to mix half and half. Apply on wet hair, mid to bottom length. Leave it on for 20 min or apply at night time. I can go sleep and next day shampoo and conditioner. And to also use Olaplex #8 for hair mask.
