All Torch Down Rubber Roofs need protection against UV rays. If you don't do this, your Torch Down Rubber Roof lasts only 12 - 15 years. Silver Coating is not to fix leaks on a rubber roof. I explain why Aluminum Asphalt Coating is necessary and how to apply it.
I use Turbo Poly Seal to make necessary repairs on a rubber membrane.

I left South Africa in 1986. I can't imagine what it is like over-there. Hou die "blink kant bo" as my dad use to say. Sorry that we don't export. The demand is too small to make it feasible.

How do you repair the silver coating on a flat roof if there are leaks 2 years after applying it? Do you have to remove it to apply silicone?

Is silver coating, aluminum coating? And is that better than the super silicone coating I’ve heard you mention before?

Aluminum Asphalt is the the same as "silver coating". Can not be compared with Silicone Coating. Silicone coating use primarily be used on EPDM roofs and not any other roof surface. If you want t protect a metal roof from rust, then Aluminum Asphalt is the correct coating. To protect a Torch Down Rubber roof, Silver coating should be used

Nope silver is to protect from UV’s not to seal leaks.

Hey Doc i got a way to remove that Turbo polyseal from your fingers and hands, just take 1/4 cup of hard Coconut Oil and just start rubbing it into your hands and fingers, then sit and wait 5 minutes and start rubbing again and you will see the black polyseal dripping from your hands and that Coconut Oil really gets it all off, not one of those half ass hand cleaning jobs, then you need a baking soda wash to get the Coconut oil off your hands.

wow, that is good advice. How do you know if it is the black from the Turbo or is it your skin rubbing off? just kidding with you. I really appreciate the advice. I have to get some Hard Coconut oil. The problem I am a instant gratification guy. While on the roof, I want to clean my hands very fast so to move on to the next task, then Lacquer Thinners comes in handy. Not good for the skin, but it only take a few seconds. I am glad you are Honest, hard to find commodity. Comment more often, I like your advice. Cheers

@@FlatRoofDoctor i misspoke when i said hard coconut oil, its nothing special just regular coconut oil in a bottle thats not melted, i will try the Lacquer thinner next time.
