You have to complete your high school and then apply to Harvard. You should submit your application in the Autumn of the last year of your high school.

What if a recommendation from a counselor is not available? I can get recommendation letters from my former computer technology teacher and 2 university professors (in collaboration with all 3 of them, we are publishing mathematical research papers in the field of algebraic geometry). Due to our research work together, they have a much better idea of my capabilities and interests (especially my former teacher) than any of my current teachers do, and unfortunately my assigned counselor is unresponsive to emails and has no clue what my personal interests and capabilities are. Would it be fine if I submitted the letters from the 3 people I mentioned in place of the counselor recommendation?
Hi, are you a university student? If yes, this video is not for you. It is for Freshman who applies for the 1st year of their Undergraduate degree. For Freshman applicants the Counselor recommendation is mandatory.

(International student) This is most of what I’ve done so far: - Co-authored a research paper in pure mathematics - Acknowledged in a research paper similar to the aforementioned one for many contributions to the results - Solved 5 IBM monthly computer science/mathematics challenges (might have solved more by the time I apply) - World records in a few fields of mathematics (there is a site listing them that I can reference; one of Harvard’s own professors are also listed there for many similar records, though I'm not sure if they’ll notice/if it would help) - Self learned all of the math/computer science that was required for all the previous ECs I listed, I also self learned a lot of concepts in advanced physics as a hobby but don’t have any reference to provide for that - Contributed to the development of open source software packages - Contributed to online mathematical forums - Cited on a professor's academic website for discovering some of the results listed on their site - Tutored friends about pure mathematics & mathematical physics - Excellent grades/SAT score Please let me know what else I can do to maximize my chances for Harvard/Stanford/MIT. hard. You have to look for full scholarships for master degrees. WHich is pretty rare. If you get full tuition fees, you will have to pay for living somehow. So you still need savings to move to USA.
