How To: APRS iGate with a Baofeng & Android Device

In this video I show how to setup a Receive-Only APRS (Automatic Packet Reporting System) iGate with a Baofeng and an Android device. An APRS iGate (Internet Gateway) is a program that listens for APRS packets on a radio and relays them to the APRS-IS network on the internet. APRS iGates are one of two fundamental parts of the APRS network that enable communications beyond simple peer-to-peer transmissions. The other part is a Digipeater, which is similar to a voice repeater. This is just the Igate.

cable linked is a 3.5mm audio male. Is there one with USB C? There is a 3.5 to usb-c adapter i see, but I didnt know if the igate app could use this? or if it even has the driver to do this. A lot of phones don't have the 3.5mm headphone jack anymore. Thanks.

In my app the light never turns green...I am getting crazy...these apps and connections are always hit or miss. In my case they never worked.

If it's not turning green, double check your passcode. I've never heard of this issue, unless something was entered incorrectly.

Or if your talking about your not getting audio, you may need a TRRS TRS adapter if your phone port has a TRS headphone Port and the cable is TRRS .

I checked the password and it says ok but as for the rest you suggested I am sorry but you are getting too technical and I don't understand what TRS is.
