Just for some added context: I really wish I would have mentioned that an introduction line like the one seen at 4:13 is perfectly fine, and might actually lead to a longer conversation if the person finds you attractive as well. I didn’t mean to make it seem so complicated. It really is that simple. If you’re not direct and honest enough you could even miss your chance. My mistake, but yeah. The main point of this video is that it’s that easy to get a date.

The one thing to be admired about Johnny is that he never seems to let rejections hurt him all that much. He's desperate to get a relationship but doesn't get angry when things don't go his way. If he didn't try so hard he'd probably be more attractive just due to experience and additude.

I've heard and other commenters here seem to be noting that the creators said Johnny was successful with women off-screen and the show was just about his failed attempts, which would greatly explain why rejection doesn't get him down if he's had a lot of success off-screen.

That is another thing. Johnny taught us not to disrespect woman, and that his actions should be frowned upon, and yet he understood perfectly concent and the meaning of the word no. Something that should be common sense, but unfortunately we have go praise since so many don't understand that

Something super interesting about this episode: Sheldon, the teacher for Johnny in this episode, isn't all that much better, to be honest. In fact, he's probably worse than Johnny. While Johnny definitely is sexist and is just looking for some action, he's at least blunt with his intentions. Sheldon meanwhile has been dating multiple women behind each other's back, saying how he would do just about anything to get a girl to date him, and that you only need to be polite and sweet with a girl and they'll never catch onto his cheating. Even if he is following proper dating etiquette, he still is just as shallow as Johnny is. The episode even ends with Johnny telling the women about what Sheldon was doing, and leaving the episode on a positive note, not even trying to win them over. For as sexist and dumb he can be, he's at least honest and truthful.

I am aware of the ending of this episode and how the dating coach is exposed for his actions. However, while watching this video I found his tips to be pretty decent. Almost as if the writers were trying to tell a message. They’re not the best tips in the world, I would probably even do a few things differently, but I thought it was enough advice to at least make a video about it.

Johnny Bravo is not someone to idolize, but rather laugh at. He reminds me so much of those "alpha males" and PUA's that think they know the secret to getting girls. I've always seen his last name, Bravo, as a reference to the bravado he exhibits.

One thing I learned from the last time I watched an episode of Johnny Bravo is that women are MORE than just pretty faces. I always wished for Johnny to learn his lesson, because after 60 episodes, I started feeling bad for him. He has no girlfriend, his best friend is literally his mother and weirdly enough a little girl, and he has zero social life. But deep down, he is a insecure man that wants to love and be loved, and he went though alot of trauma to end up like the way he is. As a little girl, I always wanted him to become more open, more sensitive, and realize woman weren't objects of a prize. I always wanted him to change and be happy.

While Johnny Bravo is and was just a funny episodic comedy that also teaches the audience to not act like Johnny here when talking to women and how to treat them, I think there could’ve been something more impactful. I don’t remember what the final episode of the series was, but I think it would be nice if the series concluded with Johnny learning his lesson(for good, not it being recon) and perhaps ending up with a gf who he genuinely wants to be with based of personality, treats with respect, and didn’t try to pick her up based on his pickup lines/appearance. This goes to show for anyone who was watching the show and Johnny’s journey through episodes, can learn from all these lessons and end up with a good result since treating people as people can give you both good results in a potential relationship or friendship.

Funny thing too. Even though Johnny loves women, he also has hobbies. He clearly loves karate, collects various models, keeps in great shape, and have a masters knowledge about his favorite snack. That's why there are plenty of episodes that aren't even about him trying to get a date, but just having adventures that happen to have women sprinkled in for the gags.

One thing I remember hearing was that someone asked one of the creators of Johnny Bravo (I think on Twitter or something) about why we basically never see Johnny actually successfully find a girl, and the answer boiled down to "because then he just has sex probably or the series ends because he found a girl he wants to spend the rest of his life with". When I heard that, the series made more sense to me in general.

Now that I’ve think about it, it has really shocked me now than when I was a kid that he’s trying to hit on girls for their bodies but not for their personality traits and I think that’s what Van Partible is trying to tell us but through this show. Also giving out that some women with their own POV don’t like being in the dating scene or just not ready yet because of their own experiences with men (there are actually some people who are like that just to get attention from the public that they have a date and not having a case of one-itis like in A Goofy Movie). I think the lesson here is don’t work yourself too hard to get attention. Cuz’ sometimes it’s okay to be single even if you get laugh at for it, get over it. I used to think it was impossible to find a date because I had to act like someone else. I realized it only works to be yourself, and find the person that simply enjoys being around you, and you enjoy simply being around them. I found my girlfriend by just striking up normal conversation and going from there. If you want romance you gotta start somewhere else.

There's this girl I saw at a college group thing and I like how she looks, and I even like her voice. But I know nothing about her interests or what she does in her free time. Just that she hosts a bible study small group for girls. I dont even know how to approach her, but I kind of want to. Part of me could see myself marrying her but also, I dont know her at all. So I could see that I get to know her even a little and we just dont click. Its a weird situation of life where I think this is what I want to do right now but I have no idea how. And I have trouble making friends in general, at least deep connections, so doing it with a girl directly is entirely new territory, not to mention romantically.

You sound like someone who's reflected a lot. It's fine to ask for a date based on appearance. A date's function is how you get to know someone's personality better. I'd recommend a first date to be talking over coffee about goals, dreams, hobbies, interests, etc. Conversation flows naturally when interest is mutual

@@Yipper64 If it makes you feel better, making friends as an adult is very hard. It can be really difficult to put yourself out there nowadays. If you are able to, might I recommend joining clubs or after school activities (I'm assuming you're a college student). Personally, I'd feel more comfortable dating a friend than a stranger, so becoming friends with that person first may help you feel more confident, and to figure out if you are compatible. And even if she says no, there's no harm in staying friends. Everyone's journey is different, there's no need to rush. Go at your own pace buddy.

My mom always tells me whenever I talk about my single life that you need to ignore the fact that your single, and love goes to find you, you don't usually find it yourself. Yea you may ask a girl out, but don't act like your desperately searching clues and tips. Love is like a arrow, just like the cupids arrow. It flies straight through you without noticing. My mom was right because it's so obvious a girl in my English class likes me. She stares at me beautifully and always smiles close to me. She loves hearing advice from me. Well, yeah. Anyone who puts themselves out there as much as Johnny does is bound to get lucky with someone who will say yes. Though in the real world sexual harassment charges are a real thing too, so real life Johnny is equally likely to be under multiple court orders. His machismo comes off as wholy uninterested in the person and only in what they can give him. Maybe nice for a no strings hookup, but not for any romantic endeavor.

If Johnny had a bit more emotional intelligence some of the coach's strategies would have gotten him what he wanted. Neither Johnny or the coach are genuine in their interest in a relationship though, coach is only successful for a time because he lies about it and leads women on emotionally to get sex. Johnny is at least honest about what he wants, and in real life could probably get hookups if he didn't start off so strongly and had some respect for the other party in the interaction.

Happiness comes from us not from a "partner", we need to love ourselves in the right amount first before anything else. There seems to be a fundamental misunderstanding about the character that I think will click everything into place as to why you feel the way you do about the character despite the fact that you think the way you do about him: Johnny ISN'T shooting his shot to be self-aggrandizing. He isn't thinking, "man, I'm so great, I deserve a great woman." Johnny is thinking (insofar as he's able to think) "Man, these women are so great, they deserve a great guy, i.e. ME." Whenever he flirts with a woman, he's always the one taking an interest in THEIR hobbies. Additionally, it's clearly not just physical attraction: that episode with the werewolf proves the man genuinely loves women. Johnny's Momma raised him right, he's just an idiot.

Yeah, agreed with the premise of your video, with your pinned comment included. Approaching women is great. It's basically a compatibility test. Women factor looks into the equation as well. Meaning that she's decided in her mind whether you have a chance or not when she first sees you, much like us guys in that regard. Yes, be respectful in approaching. Also, be respectful and move on if she's not interested, or taken. That said, just be authentic. If a woman doesn't find you attractive, then whatever you say will not change her mind. If there's mutual attraction, then the conversation will flow effortlessly. She'll make it easy for you. Approaching women face to face is basically a live action dating app. Have fun with it.

Hal/Tighten from Megamind is still a far worse simp than Johnny Bravo. When Tighten gains superpowers and muscles, he expects his crush, Roxanne, to fall head over heels in love with him. Similar to how Johnny expects all women to want him because he's muscular. But unlike Johnny, Tighten doesn't handle the rejection well at all. When Roxanne rejects him, Tighten then uses his power to unleash mass destruction on the city. All that because a woman said no? And not only that, Tighten threw away his opportunity to be a hero and got himself in prison because of this. Johnny never did anything near as bad when he got rejected. Tighten is a far worse simp!

No man, the base concept of series is all wrong because what Johnny was doing were all the right things to get a woman in the real life and the opposite what Sheldon the teacher was teaching to Johnny were all the wrongs because Sheldon’s teachings were about manipulating the women by being a nice guy and believe me it won’t work in the real life and you can’t deceive a woman into a one night stand nor into a relationship by manipulations because women are the social experts of human kind, words, attitudes and all the other social cues are basically women’s business in life opposite of a man’s rational logic. So you got to be open, honest and direct to any woman with your intentions with a confident and reckless attitude, all women love this type of interactions with a man especially with a masculine man despite what they tell in main media. This tv series basically made to make children feminine and weak by teaching them the right acts and moves as bad with some unwanted bad results. This isn’t the only show have been created to wash children’s brain that time and it still happens, they still wash young men’s brains with movies and series. In conclusion; that is the most precise and guaranteed way of getting woman what Johnny was doing but in the show they made it look like the wrong way and deceived people and by this way they deluded people into a very much wrong and opposite concept of mating and romanticism.

I disticnly remeber he was succesfull once, it was a spy episode we're he ended up being a partner of a female spy on a mission and he actually saved the day. One of the spy gadgets was a hair comb bomb that wod activate/defuse on a set number of uses. He not only was able to use his charm to convince the villian into letting him comb his hair one last time, but he did his usually hair routine knowing it would have enought moves to activate it. He basicly saved the day and got the girl in the end. Also he's not always a jerk, like in the werewolf episode he's managed the situtation pretty well, yeah he really just wanted the girl when off wolf mode but he kept chill, and was really nice to her.

Maybe just don't make it a big deal? The initial few dates are for finding out if you like a person enough to date them longer term. You don't need to know everything about someone before you ask them out, but enough from a conversation to see if you want to know more. The most useful tip is to be honest with yourself and others about what you want. Nobody likes being lead on or finding out they are the subject of a parasocial relationship. Through conversation find a reason to want to spend more time with someone, and just ask them for a date, and if they say no, you don't have to worry about a missed opportunity anymore. If the date goes well, ask for another. Pretty soon you'll be at the point where you are talking about love and a longer relationship. One thing that can be learned from Johnny is his willingness to move on once he (finally) gets that they aren't into him. The most reliable dating strategy is one where you take lots of chances, since you can find dozens of people you ultimately aren't compatible with but it only takes one and the rest don't matter anymore.
