I love all you tutorials. For the avrg joe. Can I get away with just spline aligning my shafts and ensuring the gapping on head weight for my builds. Cause as of right now I don't have a frequency machine. Still getting into this as a hobby. Think you could do a video for club building for beginners??? Again thanks for the vids.

I am attempting my first assembly of some irons. I have really enjoyed alot of your videos, very informative and helpful. One area I noticed that you didn't really explain in too much detail was the use of shafting beads. Specifically with regard to how much to mix in with your epoxy. I'm going to put together 4 irons. Can you tell me roughly how much epoxy to mix and approximate amount of shafting beads to add? Thank you in advance for your time and assistance...

Great tutorial! I like the tape tip to keep the ferrule in place to prevent it from moving. What are the alignment marks you refer to when epoxying the clubhead to the shaft, (I have my shafts Pured so I'm instructed to align the Pure line at the 12 o'clock position with the clubhead)? Also, if the ferrule fits tight do you enlarge the ferrule ID or sand more off the shaft tip? Do you use the belt sander on graphite shafts when tip prepping, or is there too much danger of removing too much material?

Your videos are great Mr. McClery!...On many occasions I have .355 iron heads that fit VERY loose in a .355 iron shaft (I also find this issue for .335, .370 heads as well) Is a shim the solution or is there something else you do?
@McGolf

If the shaft is loose, I try centering beads if the fit close. If the fit is sloppy then I will use a shim

What's the best way to remove an existing (scared) iron head from a steel or graphite shaft? Heat?

if im using lead tip weights do I want to put epoxy at the bottom of the clubhead hosel so that the end of the weight will be expoxied into the hosel? how would that affect the hole in the weight?
@McGolf

I like to epoxy the entire weight and inset into the tip

I see Golfworks has glass shafting beads and quick center shafting beads any idea of the difference? Which one do you prefer? I called and asked a customer service rep at GolfWorks but they didn't seem to know what shafting beads where at all. Thank you for all your help have a wonderful night. -Paul

I actually use the quick center from golfworks. If I recall correctly, both beads are really for bead blasting, the glass beads are obviously made of glass and the quick center is the a mixture of the stuff called black beauty and finer grains.

McGolf Custom Clubs thank you really appreciate all the help! Really enjoyed your last video on bore thru. Any idea where to get the adapters for the older Calloway heaven wood? Not even sure what I would be looking for if I started looking around the web for one.

do i need to mix the poxi with the glass bead?
@McGolf
@McGolf 7 лет назад
I like to mix the epoxy together first then add the beads. This gives the epoxy a little more mixing time. This makes sure the epoxy will adhere when used

how about ferrule? it have many sizes like .350 .0355 .370. do every shaft have driffrent thickness or we just can use any tpye of the thickness & length of the ferrule?
@McGolf
@McGolf 7 лет назад
Bahri Bohari the shaft size/type is typically the same as the hosel its going into. Then you pick the length and outside diameter to make sure it looks good to you on the club

👍👍👍. lastly, the shaft length. how long do you cut from the tip. i notice that you cut the butt of the shaft before you put the grip.
@McGolf
@McGolf 7 лет назад
Cutting a shaft to length is a good video idea! People using have many different philosophies. The true length of the club is measured in the playing position from the ground floor to the desired length
