Thank you! The first guy I spoke with for the parts of my house that have original century wood told me it couldn’t be refinished and I needed new. It’s in rough shape and is pine but it felt off. He pointed to a few spots where someone had face nailed. 🤦🏻‍♀️. Thanks for the videos and education!

I will have to binge watch all your videos. I just completed a 1940s oak floor refinish and I didn’t find your channel until after the completion (aargh). Made me realize that I made several mistakes. Master line and Poloplaz urethane cover up multiple mistakes. 😂

I have actually had a couple oak floors in about that shape they wanted me to sand. I hit it with wood dough before I just 80 drum sand it, buff and finish. I always let them know. Most if not all the nails will be showing and even wood dough filler won't be a good fix for movement and cracks. But sometimes the homeowner doesn't care. They just want more finish and a new color of stain on their floors. There is so many 3/8 flooring in my area. All of pretty much sanded by do it yourselfers before me. I actually just did one, they wanted their red oak stained with "red oak" minwax. I do not know who at minwax chose that color and name, but it definitely didn't look like redoak. But It perfectly covered up all the pet stains in their floor.

Great videos. Thank you for sharing your experience. Question, I live in a three-story home, The top floor, under old carpet was the original t&g pine floor. A few layers of paint cover it, and with some areas of the floor, the paint is peeling. I want to prepare the floor for paint, any recommendations on how to prepare the floor and the type of paint to use once the prep is complete?
