Farm Shed. The correct answer is Farm Shed. I don't know WHEN they updated it or how I missed the building, but currently (June 2023) you need a Farm Shed to assign the workers to the fields. I guess, originally it was just the one building but now there is a separate building for doing stuff WITH the product of the field (the Barn) and a building for actually tending the fields. I guess (as usual) I am the last to know this. I spent an OBSCENE amount of time this afternoon trying to figure out how to assign my peasants. NOTHING said ANYTHING about a farm shed except for someone basically complaining about the Farm Shed in a reply on a Steam thread about this very thing. So, if this was your issue, build a farm shed. Sorry this was so long winded. I know this is a year old video and stuff has changed, but I thought I might save someone a lot of frustration.

So just a heads up, lower the game volume. You talk pretty soft, so it’s hard to hear you with the chicks and chickens in the background 😂 . But great video very helpful.

Seasons matter, seed tool tip should indicate when it is planted and harvested. I recall little can be planted in winter maybe carrots and cabbage. Also workers only work during the day.
Yes, there is a step where you map out what gets planted in each field, assuming you did that and the types match the planting season you should be set.
If you assign villagers to the farm and you have jobs assigned covering sowing/reaping/threshing and you planned the crops, it should be covered. Your villagers assigned as tool makers can keep the warehouse stocked for the villagers as well.
Quite a bit depending on their skill. Often I would leave them to it and work the field myself the last evening before season ended. usually only had a little left and my fields were massive. way more crops than was needed. Huge incomes in the selling.
This game is so unintuitive bruh, My guy Oswald is assigned to the Barn as a farmer, but the only jobs the barn has are creating grain. I'm trying to find out how to assign a worker to go into the field but he's just standing around doing nothing while I die from cold exposure lmao
Oswald is in the right place. Now just open your field management and plot what crops go where assuming you have the right crop for the season and enough materials ie fertilizer, seed, bags, hoes then Oswald should get to.
@@papasean8908 idk if there's been a super recent update, but now you have to have them assigned to the Farm Shed instead of the Barn 😂 I watched SO MANY videos before I eventually just trial and error'd my way to it
This is a good video.....and it is appreciated. But the reality is, it doesn't show HOW TO assign the villagers to the Farm. Your explanation of everything else is great, just Not what the video is called 😊
