Well done! I’ve had the bits melted at the end separate from the rest but never untie. I’ve had one particular clip lashed to a light going strong for 3 years now. Throw a ranger band or piece of inner tube on your BCD and you’ll be streamlined AF
@CircleHScuba
@CircleHScuba Год назад
Exactly! I love ranger bands but definitely an inner tube will work too haha. I told you that you’d enjoy this one! 😉 Glad you enjoyed!

Last step: Add drop of super glue (cyanoacrylate), to both sides of knot.
@CircleHScuba
@CircleHScuba 10 месяцев назад
How easy does that cut through in an entanglement emergency? I haven’t tried it yet.
@toadou8127
@toadou8127 10 месяцев назад
Just glue on knot. 'Can still cut line between snap and gear.

Interesting video. As a tip, set the focus point on the camera to the torch and it wont keep re-focusing when your hands move back and forth.

Thanks so much for that. Definitely am learning the camera and how to best do top down angles still. I’ll try this out!

What is the size of the boltsnap used? Thank you!
@CircleHScuba
@CircleHScuba 21 день назад
They come in a variety of sizes so it kind of depends on what you’re wanting. I think I have some linked in the description that were in this video, but you may want larger or potentially smaller, depending on what the item is and use case. For example larger on side mount works well for me, or with cold weather gloves.

A second option and simpler would be to use a SS split ring.
@CircleHScuba
@CircleHScuba 10 месяцев назад
Split rings are great too when you have an attachment point like the light for sure. Some things you need to tie a bolt snap to don’t have a spot for a split ring though, like when you add a bolt snap to a second stage hose in some configurations. Definitely nothing wrong with a split ring in my opinion, though there’s an argument for it not being “quick break away” in case of entanglement

I use metal part od lighter to finish line.
@CircleHScuba
@CircleHScuba Год назад
That’s a good way too! I smash it with the bottom or side of the lighter, the metal part, or sometimes my fingers haha. I guess it all works similarly 😅 Thanks for leaving a comment!

He just likes "that extra bit of safety" extinguishing the burning, hot plastic with the weakest part of the lighter 😂

Hi, may I know the thickness of the cord? Thank you
@CircleHScuba
@CircleHScuba 29 дней назад
This one I believe was a #24 nylon line, usually called “cave line” #18 or #36 is used sometimes too, but generally people want to make sure they can easily cut it off in case of entanglement.

I’m not sure the millimeter. Line is numbered like that. If you google “#24 braided nylon line” that’s how they say the size 🤷‍♂️😅

Why do you use the plastic bottom of the lighter instead of the metal plate of it? the result is the same and the metal does not burn or melt.
@CircleHScuba
@CircleHScuba 9 месяцев назад
Honestly I just use whatever free side is there, never thought of it any different any never had a lighter melt but you make a good point 😅

After losing a torch (using the suggested approach), I’ve replaced the line with stainless stell o rings (for attaching a bolt snap to a device) It’s more reliable solution.
@CircleHScuba
@CircleHScuba Год назад
Those are great options too. One of the cons with that is if it gets entangled you can’t cut it free, but to your point the pro is it won’t break.

Way too many pass-throughs and knots...actually makes the connection weaker 😢
@CircleHScuba
@CircleHScuba Год назад
Well shoot, here I am thinking that helps it stay more secure, but sacrifices how easy it would be to cut through in an entanglement situation. Thanks for the tips!

@michalpotok I appreciate the feedback. Honestly it was one of the (if not the absolute) first times I’ve ever done a top down shot and I didn’t have it all figured out yet clearly. I’m going to mark this as a good video to redo some time in the future so I can get better angles and all of that.
