Hi! Yes, no medium needed other than the garden twine (hemp) to attach the orchids to tree/palm. One caveat: I know of some friends who created a small bag of cheese cloth with osmocote slow release fertilizer inside (tea bag size) and they place it just about the orchid on tree, and when its rains the osmocote slowly dissolves over time and releases nutrients.😀🪴
Hi Sir, How about watering if the orchid is attached to the tree? My watering system is 1x in a weeks for 1 h. Also another question what if u could answer, i’d be happy: can i place the orchids on a not fully grown tree? Thank you!
Hi there! On water system, I would increase the days you water from 1 to 4 but reduce the time to ~10 mins. Then see how your orchid responds and adjust time up or down to meet your orchid's needs. on putting an orchid on a not fully grown tree, yes you can add, but make sure you add to a branch or trunk that has a woody texture (not green). 😀🪴
Hi there, no , the orchids roots are not harmful to the tree or palm. Trees and palms have been in commensalism relationships with epiphytes like orchids for eons.😀🪴
Sir, I want to know which orchid variety can I Mount on a tree. Don't damage on monsoon by heavy rain fall, and on summer by hot temperature 45°C . please replay me.
Hi! Many orchids will do well mounted on a tree in your temp/ monsoon season. Good orchids to to use are Phalaenopsis, Cattleyas, Dendrobiums, Spathoglottis, and Vandas. Note- Since you have high Temp 45C, make sure you shield orchids from direct sun exposure (part shade is ideal) Hope this helps. 😀🪴
