HTC should point everyone to this video rather than trying to provide instructions on their website or in the user manuals. Thanks for doing this, very simple to follow, and the bit about the HTC plate has probably saved plenty from snapping the tiny plastic grooves. 👍🏼

THANKS A LOT! This video made it so easier. The worst part is really closing the top lid of the Vive and I think I couldn't do it without your "2 steps" tip. Also, plugging the side brackets of the Vive is close to impossible if you don't put pression on the inside. The official Vive video showed none info on this.

The Delux audio strap has two bumps on each side of the ring on the inside that seem to suggest they're supposed to line up with the holes on the connector from where you removed the old strap?

This was an excellent video on installing the Deluxe Audio Strap. It definitely helped me. One thing I noted, I looped the Velcro strap through and attached it immediately nestling the loop wire in the non-Velcro area, this seemed like the right thing to do and just adjust the DAS with the knob in the back. Is there any reason why the Velcro strap should be moved further up?

Woah there. You just pulled out the velcro and the strap was free. In mine, the 3-1 cable passes through a loop on the strap. I don't see any way of getting it free.

Sorry if it's a stupid question, but just want to make sure about the investment: I'm thinking about getting a Vive, it'll be my very first home VR, and I'm wondering if the deluxe audio strap is worth the extra £100, or if it's all right with the original strap plus some good headphones. Opinions/comments?

I actually sold my Vive on Ebay recently because I got tired of fussing around with attaching headphone every time I wanted to use the Vive; I immediately regretted selling it, and purchased it all over again, only this time I ordered the deluxe audio strap at the same time, which is what I just should have done to begin with. A waste of quite a bit of money there, but I really didn't want to get rid of it in the first place, and I'd had an investment in other things related to ownership of the Vive, such as a pair of lightstands to mount the Vive trackers, aka lighthouses, and several VR games, so I decided that re-buying the Vive was the only option, and because I had just resold my original Vive, and one other unrelated item on Ebaby, I had the extra funds to buy it again. The lesson, and advice here is to think things through completely, and don't be impulsive like me; it's a weakness I am trying to overcome lol

I don't even have a Vive. I just wondered if because it was the Vive and super complicated if they were gonna task you to disassemble the headset and solder the wires on. Lol. 😁

adam swagger i think later versions have a slightly different 3-in-1 cable design than this, but you should still be able to clip it to the side just fine (www-vrheads-com.cdn.ampproject.org/i/s/www.vrheads.com/sites/vrheads.com/files/styles/large/public/field/image/2017/01/vive-3-in-1.jpg?itok=bWXYVxR6)

He didn't show it but on the original headstrap they are fed down the middle through too loops so you have to backtrack the cables to fully get rid of the original strap.

I can't attach that strap for the life of me. My fingers and wrists hurt from trying to push it on. One side just doesn't budge. Anyone any tips? It's not a matter of not pressing hard enough I feel.
