It is made of 5mm hardened steel for moderate security lock ups. The lock strength rates as a 6/10 and is the most convenient lock of this size. It works very well with the Super73 S2-E and RX-E frames.
For long term storage, we recommend a bike cover and perhaps storage behind a locked garage door.
