Well it being right is dependent on how you have your seat set, one mirror setting wouldn't fit everyone.

In North America, my 2013 a6 I bought in 2021 came with this feature, I didn’t have to do any programming or anything extra

That's correct. It has to be in the passenger mirror position

To have the auto dip on reverse to function, the selector knob should be pointed to the passenger mirror.

Have you solved this?

While you are seated in the car, if you set the car in reverse, you can use the mirror adjust knob to set the angle you desire.

Is your car an older model?

Yes it may depend on your model car, or perhaps someone set it up for you previously.

Of course. If not electric, what else would move it. It won’t just move on its own you need electric mirrors to do that. 👍

I am not sure, but the 8L is a bit older so seems less likely.

I assume it would work, however I don't have an A4 myself so cannot say for sure. I do recall my old S4 B6 was able to do this so safe to assume the B8 can also.

Why would you want to undo? If you don’t want the mirror to dip just let the knob that you use to adjust the mirror in the middle and it won’t dip it only dip if you let the adjuster knob on the passenger side

@@eugenionita8702 i didn’t adjust it to dip. I bought the car that came with the setting and I’m just trying to reset it. Not everyone needs the mirror to dip to park. It doesn’t undip quick enough when I parallel park or leave the spot. If you live in the city, you’ll know it’s annoying you can’t see when you are trying to pull out to a pull street.

@@HalloMoose yes but if you don’t have to dip just turn the knob that you adjust the mirror to driver side it shouldn’t dip anymore as long the knob it’s set to driver side at least my Audi B8 2011 it only dips if I turn the knob to passenger side mirror if I turn the knob in between or to driver side it won’t dip when I put the car in reverse, I don’t need it always on as well so I just use it when I need it, you can try see if it works.

@@eugenionita8702 at the time it doesn’t work when I tried to adjust it with the knob and when it work every back and forth you do I had to use the knob. I live in HOng Kong, the spaces are tight and roads a narrow. People really don’t give you the time off day (even for 30 seconds!) to pull out of the parking spot or give way before they start honking. Given I’m already good at parallel parking to begin with….so I ended up resetting everything so I don’t have to worry about it anymore. Lol
