I am a technical person and made a similar water controller for a suction pump using a microcontroller Arduino. No moving parts are used like a mechanical float switch etc. Just used 2 stainless steel wires to sense when the water tank is full or when the motor is dry running etc. The total cost of my product is under PKR 2000.
I have also developed a similar arrangement. So instead of passing 220 volts all the way up to the float switch, I'm using 12 volts and a relay.. So that it will be much safer especially during rain and bad cable insulation just in case.
Shah Sahib you should use this system to control a relay (contactor) that will prolong your motor life and less electric usage or at least float should operate a relay . (it is technical stuff don't want to bored you with details in simple loger the distance electric travels more loss it will have) none the less this is great video with good concept.
Nice setup. But I don't think you are allowed to put a motor on the main water supply line. You need to have an underground tank and motor needs to be connected to underground tank. You should check with the water supply company in your area just to make sure.
Great job, I am also always interested in automation, already installed the same float & wifi switch in series & Fred the time scheduled. Also try to search the water sensor for so long but could not find it. I also bought Switch Automatic Booster Regulator Water Shortage Protection Level Controller, but it could not used to sense the water but use as a booster near water tank. Now I am so happy to find such sensor. I am a great fan of your videos. My solution: I have placed a bigger tank back side of my home with a float valve connected to the society water supply line. The advantage is this tank remains always full with the simplest automation. No contaminated water comes into my house because water always comes when there is pressure in the line. Motor fills the top tank controlled by a level switch as he explained.

Great video, but I don't understand why you would want to restrict water pump based on water supply - sometimes water supply is every 2 or 3 days and the tank on the roof could run out before that. We have something similar but simpler setup at our house: 1) one float on roof water tank to detect when water goes below a certain level to turn on water machine 2) another float in ground water tank that disables power of the water goes below a certain level 3) smart switch that provides power to both floats and motor that is timed to turn off circuit during peak hours
Please show the wiring diagram also, block diagram gives general idea what's happening around.What should be used to monitor the continuous level measurement?. This job is an intermittent level measurement, instruments should never be exposed to direct sunlight, extra shade or cover is needed.Thanks for the nice upload.

Dear Owais I used to see ur Vidoes, always found informative. I want to upgrade ur knowledge! Never install the elbow of 90' in the outlet pipe from pump to overhead tank. All fitting must be installed with 45' of elbows. U can make experiment by using an amp meter and see the amperes consumed by pump with 90' and 45' and can see the difference.
Good work! another milestone in home automation, consuming energy efficiently. Good that you have used fiberglass overhead tanks which I think are better in terms of maintaining quality of water, please correct me if I'm wrong.
Just a suggestion, you and your wife could start Home Renovation business. Your dedication of not doing 'jugad' in any area is impressive. You must have face it yourself, honest and dedicated contractors are impossible to find. They'll never work on your house with the dedication that you desire. Almost every house in pindi/isb has seepage. As for the video, when I was living in GCC, humme pata hi nahi chalta tha kab paani aya, kab motor khuli, etc. Yaha aa ka har waqt conscious raho ke.. paani overflow na ho jaye, motor khuli tu nahi reh gayi, etc. And as for the first world countries, they don't even have water tanks... wo in sab cheezo se aage nikal gaye hai. Only we are stuck in these petty issues.
Nice video, as always. Does this system retain time or resets after power failure, if so, it may never reach the 1-hr limit to check for water availability if power keeps cycling every hour. Knowing how sensitive electronics are and how quickly they fry with power failures & surges, I'd be interested in knowing how this setup fares after one year. The level switch should be fine, it's the electronic circuitry on the motor that I am concerned about.
Bhai over head tank ke switch se normally control wires thin wires use karne chahy na ke 329 ke wires is ke 3 reasons hen (1) cost cum ho ge.(2)5vdc ya 12vdc supply use Karen (3)4 safety Aakhir men control relay use Karen motor ko start/stop karne ke ly.

Very informative video. I've a question that can we use the water sensor on bore system rather than government water supply. As we live in karachi and now there is no concept of water supply by KW&SB and almost every home have boring system and rely only on it. The motor is inside water lines might called rocket pump or what, which is not visible or easily accessible. Hope you understand my query.

AoA Shah Sb. I build a new home from where electricity pole is far away. Low Voltage is my big problem. I'm going for electricity wiring in my home tomorrow. I wanted to shift my electricity load on 3 kv solar system in next couple of months. My area government water supply is not at a regular time. Sometimes morning sometimes evening. Our water pump system is manual. Can this be fixed on our system. My need is whenever water supply comes pump should start automatically and stop when when water is gone. Bcos we get water only 1 hr per day. Any suggestions
@@anjaliparmar6174 yes it should fix it. It will check every 1 hour. The only downside is if pump controller checks water at 12pm and water comes at 12:10, the motor will not know until 1pm. That’s the only issue otherwise it will work.
my issue is that I want my motor pump switch to get off after exact 15 minutes each day? can you please make a video on this? what to do if I dont want to use any microcontroller?
This system is installed on the water supply line. What about the system where water comes in the underground tank and motor sucks water from the underground tank and sends it to the overhead tank?
