Hello, I just got a ticket in NY and he was coming down the other side of the highway and as I was coming around a bend I slammed my brakes because it caught me off guard. But he claims I was doing 85 in a 65 which isn’t true and also said I didn’t use my blinker when changing lanes which I absolutely did. He was most likely looking the other way because I made the merge over as he was pulling out from the emergency crossway. Anyway I want to fight it and need to mail in the ticket with my plea. However the one section on the ticket asks me if I want to request deposition of the evidence used in the ticket. Should I request that as well when I’m pleading not guilty? Thank you.

I don't believe this guys advice; too hard to pickup front end dive if brakes are applied firmly but not abruptly in a modern car with good suspension; and especially true if ovfer 1/4 mile away, he would need vision assistance. Best and safest is not to speed; or keep it 5 mph or less over also for some safety, and make sure you are not the fastest car out there. Rough numbers, if you go 10-15 mph over speed for an hour; you reduced you drive time by a big 9 minutes.................try to save by other means ; shortest route, fastest route, have a full tank of gas as stops for fuel, food, smokes takes big time compared to speed limit.
