As much as I love oled there is something to be said for a good lcd. I can blast a lcd display with full brightness for 8 hrs on a trip using gps or gaming and not give it a second thought. Plus they are cheap to replace

@@JochoPorocho There’s lots of non flagship phones that get awesome battery life i used to get nine hours screen on time with my ZTE max. But really using GPS on full brightness during an eight hour trip I’m referring to the device being plugged in

Yes I have experienced screen burn on my Pixel 3 XL. The same like the apps on other apps. It is due to extensive gaming with full brightness for almost 6 months.

Those of you saying iphones dont get screen burn in that easy. Its because apple uses burn in mitigation on the screens. The software adjust the pixles so that burn in is way less noticable then without it. For example if you have a iphone with screen burn in and replace the screen and copy all the screen data for the original screen, you will still see the burn in on a brand new screen unless you clear the data of the screen.

Another tip could be to make sure to use the parallax effect on your wallpapers, or use the dynamic wallpapers, so your background is constantly moving and not staying the same color

11 months ago did I buy my IPhone 13 Pro Max… and I’m a serious tryhard phone user and watch a lot of TikTok and snapchats with my friends. And now 11 months after I got my phone am I able to se all the icons from TikTok, Snapchat and even my keyboard… I didn’t really think that this was possible tho:(

My iphone 14 plus in warranty, just 6 months old facing oled burn in issue. All the time battery icon and network bars remain active on screen even when I am on a grey or dark wallpaper zoom in. Apple customer care refused to replace the display. They say device has passed all their display tests. What can I do? Please advise

I replaced the display on my XS Max with a genuine Apple display I took off another XS Max, and it still shows as a non-genuine display. So don’t always worry if this message appears.

It’s a pretty lame comparison. First of all, the iPhone X has 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio (half of the iPhone 13), even though they’re both oleds, the newer panels have better quality ones and HDR. Second of all, the iPhone X has a typical brightness of 600~nits compared to 1000 on the iPhone 13 (1200 max in HDR) so if you set the brightness to 25%, that’s basically 150nits vs 250nits which is obvious. It seems you’re just in a nocebo effect. A true comparison would be with the same models, one more used than the other

I'll never buy anything with an OLED display. They might have superior contrast when you first start using it, but subpixels will quickly diminish and you'll always end up with burned in images. I'd rather have "inferior" colours on an LCD that lasts forever. I still use an LCD TV I bought back in 2009 and it looks just as good as the day I got it.

But even if you replaced with genuine part apple has it set up to display the non genuine screen message. Apple and their Monopoly on repair. Also have in mind that when It comes to brightness newer devices are more capable to display higher nits of brightness especially those 13 pro max models.

@@Manster559 actually it didn't. If u look a Hugh Jeffreys screen replacement video on an iPhone 13. He swaps a brand new screen from a brand new iPhone 13 to another iPhone 13 and a bunch of features got disabled. Right after he puts the other screen back the features are still there. Meaning that apple disabled face id even thought a genuine part was used. The issue it's not the just part but the serialization that apple puts on that part. They aren't providing any tools to pair the new serialized parts so the phone will continue to mark them as non genuine even thought they were bought oem. If it wasn't because people became aware of this and complained that apple so called finally will release an update to fix this issue.

I’ve been using OLED iphones since the 2017 (the iphone X) and have never had this issue, the screens are great and you can pretty much do whatever with them

@@SlyCooperRN well i have the 12 pro max and let me tell you.. the signal status and wifi bars and the battery icon are burned into my display just look at a light gray image on full brightness and you could see them. plus the whole time i have owned this phone i use auto brightness. Thank god for Apples self service repair i’ll just buy a new display for my phone 😤

I think it will be costly bc OLED screens are high quality and to think that they will place a order for such huge OLED screens will be costly so they won't do it. unless they raise the price of pro models and put it on them.

This only happens on Oled display not LCDs and the iPhone 7 has a LCD,so the problem you face might be something different.

I'm just afraid that the home indicator ( line bottom ) could be affected in the future I have iPhone 13 pro max and I'm sure of that because the line bottom remains visible all the time when watching a youtube video or when using whatsapp or facebook We have figured out how to gesture with iPhone starting with iPhone X. So please Apple remove it and save our screen from burning
