My heart is cheered by my beauty full double petal deep red amaryllis with 2 flowers currently blooming and 2 more about to bloom. 🙂The leaves came first and are very long and it's in a plastic pot so I may have to find some small stones to weigh it down before it might topple!! They really are amazing plants as I am discovering. Where did you get your black ties? Happy growing 🙂

This is a very old video, so I hope it was useful! 'Black ties' are known as 'zip ties' in the states, or 'bar locks' in the UK - readily available and cheap from Amazon or eBay. These plants are actually more correctly known as 'Hippeastrum' - despite what the nurseries and garden centres call them. They are impressive 🤩 I used to grow only white ones and always called them amaryllis

And they say size doesn't matter...😂 Everyone calls them Amaryllis - but they're wrong. Over here, everyone calls Pelargoniums 'Geraniums' - even the plant nurseries and garden centres - but they're wrong too. Today, I shall wallow and bathe in my 'correctness' on everything under the sun - for tomorrow, I'll likely kill an orchid...
