Thanks. All of the EPW videos I've seen are succint, organized, short, relevant and a good use of my time. Maybe that's your commiment; maybe you just know this topic well enough to do that. There are a lot of rambling, give-it-a-try videos out there on these topics and YT doesn't pay enought to justify a big effort. But you have given it your best, and have adopted to a service mode where people want to buy services in bite-sized pieces and have turned that into a success. Kudos to you. In these times it's somewhat counter-intuitive but, quality, and the time commitment that requires, still seem to be the foundation of success and I think your practice proves that.
Thank you for sharing .. Would providing a picture of my product with a decal sticker (branding) of the name on it , AND/OR Business card, AND/OR Brochure with domicile address and company name be acceptable when submitting for Trademark as "IN USE" ?
Elizabeth, Thank you for your passionate videos which are very informative and helpful! I am working on filing a word mark for my products but worried that the uspto will reject my submission. I was intending on using my uncles dentist office as the domicile address, as I work from home, but after watching your video I am concerned this is not acceptable. The trademark is very similar to how Apple has a word mark for products in the computer or electronics class. For example, my trademark would be for "Beans" in the clothing class. As a friend, do you have any advice on how I can provide an acceptable domicile address or how I can stay ahead of any foreseen issues since my word mark would be for products that are not identifiable by the word mark itself? Love your content and thank god I found you! I’m in the researching/learning phase of starting a new apparel company to sell online. That would be “products “ class right? But if I file and get approved for that, would I legally be able to sell, let’s say greeting cards under the same brand and website?
Yes you can sell other stuff. You'd want to do a trademark search at that time to make sure that someone else didn't get a trademark on that thing for the greeting card class

What if you want to trademark a social media brand, your brand name is used to run discussions, book clubs, podcasts, RU-vid videos, etc. but there is no physical product, yet? And can you add physical products later?

Do you have your brand or business trademarked? Can a dba or copyright of the brand name save a brand from getting into trouble from others that trademark a business under the same business name regardless of if it is the same type of brand? I got a rejection for filing my business (sole proprietorship) because of wrong information I was given from the county of my business address. I specifically asked on the phone whether I needed to file with the county I reside in doing business or with the county of the address I'm using. I'm so upset....Is there something that can be done for giving me misinformation? I want to try and get a refund. I have a screen shot of the detailed date and time I was given this information as well as some other documentation.

You could file an "intent to use" (1B) application -- it will take 9+ months for them to look at it anyway. That way you get dibs on the name, pending you launching the business and making sales. You give them an email to contact you, and you can just file to change the address

Per TMEP 1201.03(e) the use can be by a "controlled licensee" persuant to a written agreement. So in theory an individual can own the trademark and the use can be by a company under their control

@@ElizabethPW yes! My concentration was in Intellectual property, so I’m familiar with trademark, copy rights, and patents! But unless you start at an IP firm, there’s limited resources. ( or at least appears to be!)
