Go to 10 or 10:30 then ...before you go to left 9..sets the same angle with less space...also 2 and a half spots is too far to go past your hole ..only go past to the end of one extra with your left shoulder... takes less room and sets the same angle...back up on front wheels straight and wait for tandems to slowly pivot, then hold a hard left to the hole.... finish with tractor wheels straight you're home.
@@ZNX05 I'm giving it for a sleeper, so yes even less with a shorter rig like a day cab...or short trailer, tandems don't really matter for length on set up, they matter on trailer swing for sure and the speed of the trailer reacting to wheel inputs...all the way back means a slower reaction time and less trailer swing, all the way forward, faster trailer reaction and more swing, so forward can get you into trouble if you don't maintain 4 feet off the line of trucks when you set up...get too close at the beginning with that swing and you'll be likely to hit or scrape if you're not watching like a hawk. The angle is what you're creating, when you get to your 9 o'clock come back on a straight and watch for the tandems to stop and pivot, hard left to the hole you're in. Sometimes a little correction when you're waiting for the tandems while backing, if you're too long cut a little left sooner and mix that with straight until the pivot...if you're too hot, meaning too close to the inside, stop. Straighten your front wheels on the tractor, pull forward one revolution of the tires, that's 8 feet, and come back again on a straight and watch those tandems for the pivot and go hard left for home.
Lol, the 12 and 9 has to be modified, sometimes you can't make it to 10:30, ...never heard 11 anywhere as a concept tho, always 12-9 Hell sometimes you cant make 10 o'clock on the way out to set up, lol ..get some bend in it and work it ...or do a jack 90 works every time, hell on your tires tho
Great video ❤ I just my CDL license after years of trying I got introduced to an immigrant helper online who assisted me getting mine for a decent amount
Why the unnecessary step of lining your shoulder up with the parking spot if you were just going to use the 2 and a half trailers as a reference point to begin putting angle in your trailer? 🤔
You stop midway between your destination spot to make sure that the trailers on the left and right are completely in their lanes. If you use your shoulder, you’re pretty much dead center, and won’t be thrown off by viewing from a bad perspective.
just to confirm you went down 2 and a half spots because you did not have enough room on the dock side? If you had more room on the dock side you would have just drove 1 spot and then did 12 o’clock then 9 oclock?
That’s wrong my guy. you have your shoulder at the middle of the park NEXT TO the one you want to back in, and then you do your hard turns. 2 and a half trailers will have have you overshoot the park by a long shot
Why you backing from the side when you could have pulled up in front of that spot and got truck and trailer almost straight. Your backing from a side angle with a blind spot on your right. Asking for trouble. Never do a side back unless you have zero chance of any other.
No need to do alley dock when you drive for fefex terminals are always empty plenty of spot to choose from but it doesn't hurt to practice to stay in shape
Wait wait, is this a joke or real because that seems like it would help if ur limited forward space from how I was taught the 45. I started turning one trailer over from the spot I was going in…
I'm just going to point out.... One of you really wants the hard part. One of you can't find his hard part (presumably because it's in a Volvo) The other wants to get it on the hole if it's hard or not. #StayClassy
Hes driving with 1 hand basically in the same spot but keeps saying 9 oclock 10 olock 11 oclock like bruh how is the clock going up if your hand is in 1 position and not moving? Terrible example of how to back
Hmm all my life I pull to very next spot and start turning when I reach the airline if a truck was there then pull all way up until I’m at a 45 angle with wheels straight after I stop who knew I was making it hard for myself lol
You can see he just left school. You pull up count spaces, Sturn the stereo to the right go up. Stop Turn the stereo to the left, go down. Stop Use the clock in your memory. Stop put forward, get out and lock 7 times stop, come back. The whole white the sweat off your face
Where is the most important part 🤔 You WOULD have the most views IF you do the whole maneuver slow with the check marks and instructions like you have it on here.
Reinventing the wheel... Just cut in, swing out, go forward a little, turn left so it's "hooked" into the spot you want. Then just follow it in the hole...
Mr instructor whenever you hear the power steering screaming that means you turning too much let go of the steering wheel you gonna mess up the pump within a year
At step 3 the truck is facing 12 o'clock. He turns clockwise to the right, the hands on a clock read 1, 2,3 . Why say 11, 10 9 ? That would be counterclockwise turning to the left. I'm obviously confused.
