Thanks Dave most helpful. I spent an hour at the Genius Bar yesterday. Outcome was that I need to go back to factory settings which scares me to death.... thought of losing 24k photos!!! So one slow step at a time for me. Cheers and thanks. Dianne.

This is a very clear video. However, when I follow the steps, my time machine looks nothing like this. All that comes up is the WD passport ultra that doesn't seem to do anything. I have no idea if things are backing up or not but the computer keeps asking me to back up so I am assuming not. It won't even let me uninstall the WD software that is probably causing the problem...no idea what to do

Hi Dave. If you use a different external drive for your photos library (to save room on the Mac itself), will time machine also back up that drive?

I can't sign into my windows 11 pc because the user profile cannot be loaded and I also don't have the password for it so I can't access safe mode and it also won't allow to cloud reset pc could you please help me.

If I update an application, will time machine update also? Good to see you're using a Mac.

Yes, Time Machine will keep a backup of the latest app update. It also keeps older versions of your apps in the same way it keeps versions of documents
