I love this presentation. Thank you for presenting the information so clearly without any fluff or extra chatter. If i wasn't in dire need of an AC solution this would be even more enjoyable. Thank you for putting this together

With these newer systems that utilize ECM or even true variable speed blower motors, am I correct in assuming that this balancing needs to happen at normal cooling speed call from the system? I appreciate the videos since I don’t run across many zone systems. They are beginning to become more regular in my area.

And can you explain why my barometric static pressure bypass is pushing air out of the return and interfering the return suction back to the air handler

Why say eeww when you talk about bleed air through zones? It's actually much better than bypassing the air right into the return air and putting the equipment out of designed parameters

The bypass is to relieve pressure created from closed zones. If you bypass to other zones that are likely closed (raising the pressure) you are just rerouting the pressure back to where you didn't want it to begin with. That's why it goes to the return.

Great vid, learned a lot. Would have been even better if the presenter seemed to have some interest in the wisdom the old timer had to teach, just sayin.
