USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN HOOKING THESE UP. IT IS VERY EASY TO HOOK UP WRONG.
We discuss how to charge two similar (typically batteries that are used in pairs for trucks ie. Emaxx, E Revo, etc) from ONE charger or one charger output.
First, your charger MUST be able to charge the number of batteries together. So, if your charger can balance charge up to 4s lipo, you can charge 2 2s batteries together. If your charger can charge up to 6s lipo, you can charge 2 3s batteries together.
It is very important to know that you need the batteries to be in similar condition-so make sure they are similar voltage/use. If not, it will take a lot longer to charge since the charger has to try and bring up the other battery pack cells while not charging the others.
Done properly, you can save yourself a lot of time by charging both at once!

Nice video. Take a look at XT150 connectors and you can get rid of all your adapters. I have 4 s2 batteries in series. I have written numbers on the balance adapter to not get confused 🙂

It's kinda funny that you can buy countless "parallel charging" boards, amazon banggood alibaba .. They all sell those parallel boards. It costs exactly the same to SERIAL connect them, just in that case you can charge. With the parallel boards you'll fuck up your batteries in best case.

I think even they are not the same but have similar capacity will work if the charger have the obtion BALANCE CHARGE and charge slowly.

I intend to built adapter for 3 buc 2s batteries . WE can mark the terminals (aka b1 b2 b3) so we don t mess up connections. Also the sockets dont allow us to put in reverse oolarity.

But the positive and negative is only common sense because the balance plug and only plug-in one way to the adapter pretty much no matter what the negative is always on the left and the positive is always on the right

Thomas Delapena basically the red (+) of the battery on the black (-) of the series lead to the farthest black of the battery on the red of the series lead. You don’t even really need a adapter with a board like that. Say it’s 2 2s packs. The 2s that leads to the black/negative side of the series connector goes in the normal 2s slot while the battery to the red/positive goes to the all the way to the left of a 4s port

I'm using these: amzn.to/2GmvWvw and I just put a little hot glue in there to make sure they stay together.

If you do in series (as shown in video) the charger will "see" the battery as the same mah, just more "s" So, if you have a 2s 4000mah and a 2s 4000mah together, the charger will "see" or charge it like a 4s 4000mah battery.

You can do that just fine, but make sure everything is hooked up properly. Setup for parallel charging is a little different.

If I have my batteries connected in series can I charge each one separately? Or is it best to charge them at the same time to ensure they are at the same voltage level?

Before I give an answer-you use 2 batteries in your car/truck at the same time, right? If so, either method is fine, but if the batteries are exactly the same (brand/age/size/etc) I would do this setup shown in the video to make your life a little easier (don't need to charge one, then swap-just get them both charged at the same time). It won't hurt them to charge separately however.

if i have a 12s splitter for 2x 6s 6a batteries, 50.4v ebike charger 10a, 12s bms 80a and i wire the lipos with the splitter to the bms, i will safe charge through bms?

To be honest, I'm not quite sure. The charger and the BMS might sort of compete with each other, and I'm not sure how it would be affected. Each battery has its own bms, right? I feel like something would be picky about this setup.

Hi, each 6s battery is connected to a 12s balance splitter cable, to achieve 44.4v the batteries are connected in series, now with a 12s bms I wire the battery, so now I dont have to use a balance charger, just a ebike charger for 12s configuration, the bms should protect the batteries from overcharge, but I dont know if it will works good, the configuration will be for a electric mountain board, I think I will purchase a 18650 Li-Ion battery pack 12s4p ;), Thanks for the answer :)

there is no 10s as you can see, so nope. :) I had the same question in mind but wait theres no 8s for balance charge wires. It limits to 6s. Thanks to this video i can clearly decide on what parts to buy.

I dont get it, at the beginning you said you was using 2 2s batteries but yet your charging 6 cells, if your using 2 2s batteries that's only 4 cells: /

I mean, you don't need to use a bad pack to do this, but I don't know why you'd tear into a functioning pack. You can try and charge just one cell if you want to try and "save" it, but I've had very little luck with this.

Ah my bad, I read this on the wrong video. As long as you have a charger that can charge 6s, you can charge (2) 3s batteries as a 6s IF"* they are similar capacities (ie, both are 3000mah) and similar use (you've used both of them by 50%).
