WOW - great video! I have been stacking stones for 8 years but your 5 minutes here has been inspiring. I also do STONE FINGER DANCING and I am sure my next video will carry some of your feelings. KEEP ON ROCKING!
Thanks for this siebertwalter. I figured out it was about the connecting points of the two stones as much as about true balance. but your clip was a great help. thanks for sharing and encouraging. :)
(LOL... evidence of a particularly well-developed cerebellum) Great videos... First time I saw rock sculpture was at a Rainbow Gathering in NWPennsylvania back around 1983 or so.
To really balance a rock is to balance it on a point as thin as your fingernail, onto a flat surface. See my "Balanced Rocks" video. A true master could balance two round rocks without grooves. We are not suppose to teach people how to balance rocks, but let them learn on their own. My child balances rocks without grooves. Some people just don't need them.
Marko Barrows Even if there was any cheating going on with his work (which I don't think there is), there is really a very limited amount of cheating possible. If he were to use glue between the stones, he would still have to balance the them very well. The glue couldn't possibly hold the stones together in an unbalanced position AND at the same time let the stones fall apart that easily once he knocks them down. Of course they're not balancing razor sharp edges, but rather find small flat areas and grooves as shown in this video. Still impressive. I say he's not cheating.
+Marko Barrows There is NO cheating, 100% confirmed! Everything can be balanced if you find center of gravity, agreed that some things are almost impossible but not impossible ;) If you watch Michael's videos you should see that there is no cheating involved ... for images I can tell you it would by often more time consuming and way less enjoyable to fake such a installation ;)
This is easy try taking hundreds and thousands of loose pebbles or round stones to create things like D.J. Mixing on the decks rockets seagulls dragons etc. Thats what I do right on the beach.
