In this video I go over one my compound bow shooting tips: how to balance your bow using a stabilizer. Balancing a compound bow using compound bow stabilizer weight is a step I find very useful for western hunting when steep angle shots are common. We are going to look at the compound bow stabilizer weight and compound bow stabilizer length to help accomplish balancing your bow. Compound bow stabilizer balance can easily be obtained with a little experimenting, making you a more accurate shooter. This is one of the compound bow shooting tips that has made a significant difference in my groups in recent years. In the argument of "bow stabilizer vs no stabilizer, having a stabilizer wins hands down for me. I personally like to shoot with a back bar stabilizer setup, and really like this S&S Archery Stabilizer (made by Spyder Archery). It really does help you stabilize your compound bow.

Thanks for tips . I’m looking at putting a rear stabilizer on my Mathews Halon and was wondering if it wld actually help balance it little better
@BackwoodsPursuit
@BackwoodsPursuit 3 года назад
Thanks for watching and the question! I think it would definitely help get your bow more balanced. A good rear stabilizer gives you a ton of ability to customize the weight. Let me know what you decide!

Don’t really need a stabilizer for hunting. I do use a 6 inch with adjustable weight. Balance is perfect with it. All those long stabilizers is good for 3D target long range. I bought some to be one of the cool guy’s but man they got in the way while in a tight tree stand. Friend directed to me to the one I have now and balanced my bow perfect. 10” 12” on the front on the back 8” is all unnecessary.

@BackwoodsPursuit 3 года назад
Yeah...you don't need a front ad back bar, but I personally have found them to help. I don't hunt a tree stand though... spot and stalk out west. I could see them getting in the way in a tree stand though. I've especially found the back bar to help on sidehill shots, but that's just me. Thanks for the comment and best of luck out there!

What does the up and down adjustment of the backbar do?
@BackwoodsPursuit
@BackwoodsPursuit 8 месяцев назад
Hey there! The back bar up and down adjustment allows you extra adjustment to balance the bow front to back, rather than getting a long or shorter length bar. It just adds to the micro adjustability to get it dialed in. Thanks for watching!

@BackwoodsPursuit 2 года назад
@@davidcalton321 hey man! Yeah, that depends on what other components you have on the bow, but most folks would say go with the 8 and 6. I've been using the 10 and 8 you years and been happy with it though. You'll likely be just fine with the 8 and 6.

It's a hunting bow? If you need a back bar why have the front bar that heavy. A little overkill maybe for a hunting rig. Gonna carry that all day in the mountains?
@BackwoodsPursuit
@BackwoodsPursuit 3 года назад
Yeah, that's my hunting bow. I don't currently have any extra weight on the front bar. I've been carrying that setup around the mountains for several years now. Sure... to don't need the back bar, but it really does help. To each their own though. Do what works best for you!
