I fully stand behind RIMGUARD or known as beat juice. RimGuard and iron weights have to be the best two options. I use a combination of the two on all my tractors.

great video Neil I had all four tires foam filled on my b2620 tlb it was not to expensive $488.75 for the rears and $154.06 for the fronts. plus side of having foam filled tires no flat tires.

My vote is Tyrfil. Did this on a compact tractor with good results. Cheaper than iron weights. Performs like an air-filled tire in that it has some give, not a rough ride. Don't have to worry about punctures, ever. I live in TX and we have a serious problem with Mesquite trees with humongous thorns. I was having to patch my tires about once a week. Had 'em filled. Now I can bush hog a Mesquite field with no worry.

I worked at a metalworking factory and we foam filled all of the pneumatic forklift tires. If traction isn't an issue, like forklifts, you can run the tire even through the belts. So in a way, you extend the life of the tire tremendously.
@paulkleinschmit9871
@paulkleinschmit9871 5 лет назад
The downside? Foam fill can fill a tire unevenly and because it's so dense, tires can get way out of balance. You may not notice on a forklift or a subcompact tractor, but we (kubota dealership) had a rtv come in where the owner had foam filled the tires and it was, quite frankly, undriveable. There's no fix either. The only thing to repair the problem is to cut the tire off, cut through the foam and start all over again.

RV anti-freeze for winterizing trailers works good as well, non toxic and it doesn’t attract animals if it leaks.

I think overall this was a very good presentation. Especially not recommending calcium chloride. there's another way to load tires as well. but it is probably more expensive than the foam. that is using antifreeze. this has the benefit of not degrading the rubber of the tire which cannot be said for methanol. you can often find used antifreeze free and there are non-toxic options. this is how I load tires on my own equipment.
@goaheadmakeourdayscooterpe6724
On smaller tires RV safe antifreeze works well and might be easier on the tires.

Methanol is low density 6-6.5 lb/gal, and not so cheap. I used magnesium chloride flakes. 100 lbs in 31 half of water 12 lbs/gal. In tubed tires it's not going to rot your rims (as long as the tubes don't leak) and is supposed to be less corrosive than calcium. It will kill your grass in case of a puncture, it's salt.

I just picked up a B1550 with a 60" tail finish mower. The front wheels often float and lose steering on the hills or when the mower is lifted off the ground. I don't expect to have a loader anytime soon. Would it make sense to load the front tires to keep the nose down?
@MessicksEquip
@MessicksEquip 5 лет назад
that would help, but a front weight block would be better.
@danb4275
@danb4275 5 лет назад
@@MessicksEquip More cast iron out front would have a mechanical advantage putting weight on the front wheels and would be more adjustable, but in theory that would also lighten the rear wheels slightly. It already spins a bit on wet grass, would weight in front of the front axle lighten the rear enough to make that worse? (armchair engineering here, first real tractor)
@wildbill23c
@wildbill23c 4 года назад
I believe that you can put suitcase weights on the front end, I believe they make a bracket for that, or is already installed on some tractors. May be something to look into, otherwise there's not much else you could do unless you have a loader that you could add some weight in the bucket out in front of the tractor that would help quite a bit too.

@eosjoe565
@eosjoe565 6 лет назад
Check your loader operator's manual. Virtually ALL sub-compact and compact loader manuals recommend 600+ lbs. MINIMUM of 3PH ballast in addition to wheel weights or liquid filled tires. Even more weight is required if using pallet forks on the loader.
@nickbrewer1242
@nickbrewer1242 6 лет назад
Gafarmer7410, well if you have anything on the 3pt or have a loader installed it best to lower them to lower your Center of Mass to reduce tipping. Also there is no way it would cause the tractor to become "tippy" if you are using it correctly, by not taking sharp turns, and lowering the bucket whilst moving. Earlier this week I was moving 800 pounds of dirt on a 25 degree slope and I had to lower everything and go slow because with a heavy load there was no steering.
@datbomb98
@datbomb98 6 лет назад
N i don't own any small tractors the smallest one we have is 80hp so they are taller machines it's simple physics if you raise weight on the front and rear the center can be unstable especially on taller machines I'm sure the geometry is different on smaller compact and utility machines
