I'm really glad I found this. I've been having trouble with new reeds I bought sounding awful and being difficult to play with so I've been using my old reed to death. But With this I managed to make my new one sound much nicer and are easier to play. Thanks :D

Oh my goodness!!! THANK YOU! If there was a "LOVE" button, I would click it! I have had this exact problem, and I threw the reeds away. I had no idea what the problem was, or how to fix it!

YAY! Hopefully this will save you a lot of frustration in the future. Have you watched the Time Capsule Reed Video- this is equally helpful for soft cane that want to go bright. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wwuPzaLXmhU.html Happy Bassooning!!!

No way?!? Columbus, Georgia? You should consider coming over for our JSU Double Reed Day in January. We'd love to have you as our guest.

So i have been playing my bassoon for about....hmmm...3 years now and i don't really get that bassoon sound. It mostly just gives off a nasal sort of sound. Also I need help not having my bassoon squeak in the beginning of a note like a prepubescent boy. And I just, well sort of just learned to live with it. But now I'm just sort of like "I don't HAVE to sound bad, I want to sound good and get into those honor bands". So maybe like a video on good sound quality and how to fix bad sounds and give EXAMPLES of bad sounds and how to fix them. THANKS

This works with store bought reeds too, right?
@erynoft
@erynoft 5 лет назад
YES! Just be sure to be gentle with them. If the cane is too hard or not soaked you could risk cracking them.
