Please help Sifu! I'm having a big problem about employee management, and I failed in my cleaning business because I didn't know how to be a good leader.. So now I'm planning to start all over again.. I will do everything and pay as much as I could learn leadership from you! (From DOD)

Interesting concept, breaking it down into a quadrant makes it easier to understand the qualities of individuals and their roles

Yup! 55 years in sale and you broke it down nicely. I have books with tons of points and blah blah blah that say without cuss words what you said in eight minutes. Cut the bull and get to the point with less. Thank you Dan.

Great video Dan. It's crazy how so many organizations suffer massively because of poor leadership. My previous job is a prime example. I worked at a medical office for about 4 years and our old manager was fired. They brought on the new manager and within a year, eight employees and one nurse practitioner left because of her laziness, micro-managing, and zero appreciation for the quality of work that we all did. Eventually, I couldn't take it anymore and said enough is enough, and I left too.

Thank you very much for sharing about leadership, Dan. I’ve just learned a lot in 8 mins. A kinda knowledge which I couldn’t gain by learning for months. I’m a new entrepreneur who just built a small team, and I’m excited to build a great one by paying attention to this quadrant. Keep inspiring, Dan! I’m looking forward to your new video every single day. Regards from Indonesia 🇮🇩

one more TOP video Dan. thanks! Indeed F ones must go and C ones they'd better change (for the good of everyone). As an employee it brought me to an analysis of where I am in those quadrants, and soon when I become a leader, how should I evaluate the ones I will be leading.

Hi Dan, this is the best video on leadership I've ever watched. Short, sweet and practical. Just wondering can you do a video to elaborate more on how to manage/coach C players. In this day and age of meeting yearly KPIs it really is difficult to let them go and in some cases, because of how good they are, hold more (political)power than the manager. It's also sometimes difficult to justify terminating them since they're doing so well. Would really appreciate your insights as it's something I struggle with. Thank you!

Take away: Coaching C Players. When I was young, I was in a company that took a couple of top sales people who were having some issues, (I was one of them), and once a week the owner would take 10 minutes and coach/mentor you on inner psychology. This helped me rewrite my inner rules, my “inner self-talk“. In retrospect, 10 min/week, even if on the phone, can keep your top earners earning, and help them become team leaders as well. After all, to consistently earn the trust of your important clients, means they ARE acting as leaders when in the presence of your clients. It’s merely expanding that leadership role to the home office as well.

I am a B - player . Its my goal to develop myself into a (A -player) . Its my destiny to become a CEO or Manager Director of a big organisation. For me its about bringing solutions to clients , bussines leaders and ad value in a Company. Creativity leads to inovation and that is one way to solve problems , add value to the company , make an impact. Action speak louder than words. In general I feel comfortable with (B) and (A) players , but it is the mindset of an (A) player that interest me . (A) players motivate me and inspire me. Work in progress..

And you are right, there are some people who come there just for money and they hate everything else there. In my opinion that is their lack of decision making and past failures which left them without options, but MOST IMPORTANT one, wrong advices from their close ones. They weren't able to unlock their true potential in the domain they really wanted, they lost the fight to others etc.

Great insights. I liked the simplicity of the graph. The A-leader can be quite competitive and needs to be mindful not to become a C-leader, hence the need of a positive culture. I live through it. I saw a video from David Bet-Patrick called "Who you are vs What you know". He related a comment from a head-hunter he worked with who said that people get hired for what they know but get fired for who they are. Dan, you helped me better understand the organizational behaviours of my work place. It is worth a million bucks to me.

I agree regarding F players, I’ve said for a long time people have no entitlement to work where they like in what ever role they like unless there deservingly of it in some way, either skill wise or attitude wise Or both . If someone has a good attitude and no skill I can live with this if there willing to learn fast.
