Listening is a radical act of love.

I came to this video to better navigate the work world. Honestly, this is powerful wisdom for building a dialogue on the issues we care most about. The idea that I shouldn't be composing a response while listening is radical and foreign to me. I'll think about this further and try to put it into practice.

I work with a boss who has been at the job now for 9 months she still have very minimal knowledge on how the department runs, she did depend heavily on n the now and soon to be out Supervisor and he made it that way. This boss works by making the person who she can manipulate into doing all her work, she thrives off of fear, and intimidation. This boss is a female she is in nursing school now her very first year, so she comes to work all day and study while her supervisors and team leads do their daily work and hers as well. This boss despise me, she will hold meeting with my work group when I am out to lunch, would not include me in a brief huddles on a subject..etc. Not to mention she has written me up several times on small stuff her superior is a known female bully within the company so they work well together, very unfair work conditions she has two employees who are her known girl friends....sky is the limit for them but everyone else nope you're on the list with a target in your back. Out of the entire office I have been harassed the most by upper management. I myself is in school now, I am soon to be done with school this fall. This boss when I bring important research to her asking for direction dismisses me then ask another senior employee to find out what is my issue and to solve it then says to the senior employee to get back to her. This boss despise employees who are smarter and have a strong personality, and can do the job with very mimimal supervision. How to fake respect this woman, I myself don't like or care for her at all? What is your professional advice?

Dear Crystal, In my opinion the relationship with your boss can be ‘heaven or hell’. There’s no middle ground. In other words, it can be complete bliss or enough to drive you crazy. One day he’s fine the next day you wish he’d disappear (btw, I mean he or she). The relationship with your boss can make every aspect of your work more challenging but there are way to make it effective and overall bearable. I suggest you to listen my How to manage your boss effectively (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rTpLuwhUOYk.html) where you can find five valuable ways on how to manage your boss.
