14:58 Actually, "Practice makes permanent." If you practice doing something incorrectly, you'll become "perfect" at doing it incorrectly. That said, the implication that one can get better at doing something by engaging in it is generally correct, as long as you are able to recognize (or have a peer point out) your missteps and learn from them. Most often, missteps come from a lack of experience with a specific situation. Having experienced the situation, analyze it and critique yourself. Think about how else you could have handled it. Ask someone to review your self-critique (or, if they were present, ask for their own critique as well) and your ideas for the future. Internalize how you intend to handle the situation in the future. Then, you'll be better prepared the next time that situation arises. The more you do this, the fewer unexpected situations there will be, and the more "perfect" your facilitation will become.

Incredible! I have been conflating the terms instructor and facilitator so long that I really thought they were one in the same. It's like pulling teeth to get people to respond- I am trying to have our meetings be more interactive and teaching them to not wait for people to tell them to do things and being able to think for themselves and tell me what they need. They are the SME's I am just trying to guide them and start the conversations.
Awesome information. Very useful. About trouble makers. They are not trouble makers - they are product testers, your idea testers, so they are on your side. The question is - how do you handle objections to your ideas? It requires flashing out your own logic. It is simply a challenge, a good thing. Awesome content. Good energy.
Hey there! We sometimes find some workshops participants not completely on-board with making changes and solving a problem. Many can even cause disruption and slow down the progress. Knowing how to deal with these challenges is a necessary skill for anyone working in the field.
I have a hard time making my material reach the one-hour mark. I facilitate hybrid (in-person & virtual ) sessions and I can get through the material in thirty minutes. I don't get a lot of participation from the online participants as much and I feel like that is a part of it.
Hey Kelli! thanks for sharing. Just to be sure we're on the same page. You're having a hard time reaching the one-hour mark because the participants are not engaged and you have to cut short the session? Or is it because you have some exercises planned and you finish them before the assigned time for each exercise? If it's the latter, but you're still getting to the desired outcome of the session, then it's not so bad because what's important are the results. However, it could also be that the exercises are not the right ones for the session. To learn new exercises we recommend the book "Gamestorming" by James Macanufo and Sunni Brown ( gamestorming.com/ ). It has a lot of exercises to choose from. You can also grab our free book "The Workshopper Playbook" (www.workshopperplaybook.com/book-choice). In this book, you'll find an easy framework to design sessions and workshops. To your point regarding running hybrid sessions. We know it's not easy, especially because of what you pointed out. We normally treat hybrid sessions as if they were completely remote. All participants (even the ones in person) are collaborating on the same digital whiteboard, each of them on their laptops. Hi guys, just wondering Why do you have an "outdated" site, with really old projects (if I'm not wrong the oak meditation app is no longer mantained)? Is this for a strategic/design/i don't know reason? Or do you haven't the time for restyle it? It would be very interesting to know why a lot of top designers and agencies don't give a **** about their websites.
Hey Limi!! That's a great question. The honest answer is that rebuilding the website has been on our to-do list for a very long time but it's never actually been a priority for us. We've been fortunate enough to be able to position ourselves as the authority when it comes to helping companies solve problems through Design Sprints and workshops in general. Most of our clients find us through our organic content and their own networks. Of course sales calls, ads and marketing are a big part of our client acquisition process and the website hasn't necessarily been a hurdle in that process. At the moment when it starts becoming a problem, we'll probably update it. Also NDAs 😉. Hope this answer was helpful. Have a great day!
