Hi butters! Definitely puts it all into perspective that you can't just go and setup a webcam and be done with it, there's a lot of prep that goes into it all.
i wouldn't be surprised if this grows significantly in the next 5-10 years considering the numerous cases of stalkers that RU-vidrs and twitch streamers have been complaining about. not showing your face or you actual room on video helps a lot with that issue.
Vtubing is a really great evolution of streaming for people who want to make content and also maintain a level of anonymity. Regardless of if people are afraid of showing themselves, it's probably better this way for their sanity too lmao
Don't know if anyone will end up reading this, but I followed all these steps today. It was sooo, so easy to set up my own character in VRoid and import into both VRChat and 3tene. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Phia! This actually helps so much T_T
@@xvnbm It's not necessarily about what viewers would rather watch, but people that might not be comfortable in front of cameras will be more willing to become vtubers. On top of that, with a vtube avatar, you can create a much bigger separation between yourself and the character you portray. As for the future, hololive and vtubers are already super popular now, so it's just the beginning.
warning for others: a lot of these programs apparently dont run without Windows! so if you have a mac, try to plan ahead! i sure with i had a warning about it before delving in
@@empty_world3397 Nope, free download. Search "VSeeFace" and it should be the first link at the top (of Google). Once you finish your avatar just export it ( at the bottom of the tab that says Camera/Export in VRoid) to .vrm (it should do that automatically) and open VSeeFace. When it loads, there'll be a menu where you calibrate your webcam and mic, then click where it says "Add Avatar" (or something like that) then load the .vrm file. It should work and be able to capture your facial movements after that!
am I the only one who wants her to collab with Drumsy, I mean THINK ABOUT IT the #1 Virtual news reporter, and the #1 vr reality show on youtube, like my guy the hype is real
Me: Search one year how become to vtuber and don't find anything - Just drop. Vtuber: Just become vtuber. Me: understand. You: make video "how become vtuber" - free Me: maybe next year... or life. I'm Just lazy. Thanks for video.
@Don't worry About it Yeah, best time to start was at the begenning of the quarentaine. The demand to cope with the loneliness was skyrocketing like crazy
I have no idea how I ended up on this video., however, I watched the entire thing. You're amazing at explaining things. I wish more people laid things out the way you do for other kinds of guides.
Excellent work Phia! Your reporting style makes me feel like im watching an upper-mid to high budget tier yt production! You knocked it outta the park again, well done!
My question is “What to do if you want to have an actual dragon character as your virtual RU-vidr avatar?” Boy, I have a crazy adventure trying to do it. 😝
@@sunblazewildfire, Oh okay! Yeah that would be cool! I'm just saying that she's a dragon character, not an actual dragon. Kinda misunderstood the comment a little 😅 thanks though
@@Simplisti. Steam settings actually allow you to toggle whether or not you can open multiple games at once. I don't remember exactly where but it's in there somewhere.
This was very informative! Thank you for making such a great guide, I've always been curious about the software behind vtubers but now I'm genuinely interested in trying it out myself.
It has been SO HARD to eke out this type of information. Like pulling teeth! I had no idea where to look. I was just about to buy a whole Vive Cosmos this weekend and I think you just saved me $$$! This is way more information than I can take in all at once, but thank you so much for giving me a starting point for research.
Tysm for this useful starting guide. I have a friend from VRChat who suggested that I should do some vtubing since I make my own avatars in VRC. So I did some careful thinking and decided I should give it a shot and see how it goes.
Wow this is great! I’m definitely going to be trying out the free options. I personally don’t want to show my face online, so this could help bring some emotion to my videos!
This was the first video I clicked when looking up how to get into Vtubing and it's been incredibly helpful! I don't have a VR headset (yet) but half of everything you recommended doesn't require it anyways and I use OBS to put my Luppet window into my streams.
I've been trying to jump into gaming and stuff for the last decade on youtube but I've always been too shy and I've always thought this was a medium that could make me comfortable enough to do this long term. Thanks for the tips!
The links and suggestions are helpful :D Getting my rig and VR gear tomorrow. Am planning on getting into streaming in the future but am a bit clueless where to even start. Thanks again!
@Halo Kay from what I have heard, they use their phones to record their faces, and then the phone sends the info to the computer, where it is used to move the 3d model. From what I gather, it's done to avoid errors that would show the face of the person being tracked. If the phone/computer setup suffers an error, the 3d model will just disappear, instead of showing the girls face.
@Halo Kay take it with a grain of salt. I think I read it on r/hololive or somewhere, and while nobody there said that they are wrong, it's still good to double check.
I've been streaming gameplay for a while and this is something that I've always been interested in but never knew where to start really so thanks for the guide! 😁 I was lucky enough for this to pop up on my feed
From a simple model I made in VRoid I just popped it into VSeeFace, fiddled with some sensitivity settings, and captured it with OBS and with less than a day's worth of work and 0 money I have a basic but totally functional and cute potential vtubing personality. In tough times as a camera-shy person something this insignificant has me excited about streaming.
as someone who is thinking about streaming as a vtuber when I finally have my own room once we move in a year or two, this is quite the knowledge that quenched my thirst in knowing the basics
I’ve always wanted to stream but I’m very very unhappy with how I look on camera and getting a camera and lighting just to make it look watchable is wayyy too expensive. I’ve seen some VTuber stuff a lot recently and once I found out it was possible to get started basically for free (minus a webcam) I got super excited. I’m currently writing out the backstory and info on my avatar and plan on using VRoid to make my character tonight/tomorrow. I’m super excited! I’m not expecting to be some big VTuber but building a small audience and getting to have fun with/connect with them is something I’ve always wanted to do. Thanks for this super helpful video!
Love the informative content Phia. Please keep it up. In a future video, could you explore how someone would make a VRC Avatar of their own creation? I'm struggling to figure out Blender/Unity and haven't had much luck finding an artist in the VRC Trader's Discord willing to do a commission.
I'm a wannabe VTuber, and started out on facebook. What I noticed was drawing a character and using a PNG first as your avatar worked WAYYY better than vroid. I think it is because of uniqueness and PNG'S can be drawn with different emotions n stuff. in my opinion, it's another epic option if you can draw. Also, what makes more impact towards viewers is personality and your willpower to actually make people smile. Without those two, someone with all the gear in the world won't explode in popularity
I start doing 3d Print. If I compare the hard work you need to put into it. It's hard. But it's a hobby and a job!! Love your videos Phia!! Super Inspirational!
Hey so, the layout, the positive vibes, your voice, the awesome presentation, I just wanna say. You've recieved a like off me 1 minute 30 in to the video ❤
I love your content. Only thing I might say is that I liked the mouth movement on your older model. The talking while smiling thing is a little unsettling for me.
THANK YOU. I am very artistic but I never knew hot to set this up. So thanks for this me and my freinds have been trying to set this up for our yt channel. I truly do thank you.💙💙💙
