I think, one of the things not mentioned is creating templates for video editing. I have a template for each of my different types of videos which makes it easier for me to just drag my clips and drop them in my editing timeline. In my templates, my intro is in place as well as my end card and outro. I also have placeholders for all of my text with all the necessary animations, and all I have to do is type in my new text.

My tip for being consistent is to shoot a couple of extra videos which you can publish when you don't have time to shoot a new video in time. By doing that you can still stay consistent and serve your subscribers by keeping your publishing schedule.

As the biggest Navy RU-vid Channel ,, i've realized Batch Recording doesn't work for me :/ but thats okay! Everyone has their own style and creative process ! For me i can only focus on 1 or 2 major projects or "videos" per day. I get creative burnout easy after the 2nd video and to be honest I like the satisfaction of editing the video right away :) Keep up the great content !!

I'm literally sitting here typing notes. Thank you Sean! As a new RU-vidr, what's helped me get a handle on the type of content I want to put out (and a tip I was glad to hear you mention) is writing out a list of video ideas for the month, along with the main points I want to hit in each video. For instance, if I want to post 1 video per week on my health and fitness channel, I list out week 1: "What I Ate This Week"- macros for each meal, costs, prep/cook time , week 2: "Fitness Fashion Look Book"- which clothing company, costs, comfort level, etc. Basically, you fail to plan and you plan to fail!

Especially because I'm filming in an iPhone and not a batter camera. I've also learned to edit when no one else is at home to distract me/call me/need me.....

I'm really thankful for this video, I totally hadn't thought of all of the aspects to batch producing. And, I have a 40/hr a week job that requires all morning shifts so I'm up early during the other 2 days which allows me time to think of ideas and create outlines for videos. One thing I completely let slip past me until this video was, EXTRA BATTERIES!! I have sd cards like 4 of them and they are ok size but, seriously the batteries I hadn't thought about and for the cheap camera I have. The price is amazing as well so it'll definitely help me get into a consistent schedule with my videos. Thank you so much, again for making this video. :)

Great video! I really appreciate the thoughtful content you produce. I have only recently started to take my RU-vid channel seriously (uploading weekly, interesting intros, interacting with viewers) I mostly didn't take it so serious because I wasn't really sure how to get the idea I had in mind across to the viewer. I'm just starting out, but my thought was that as soon as I write a Blog Post/Article or Course material turn that into an outline so I already know what I don't feel so overwhelmed trying to come up with more content. Thanks for the info. This really helped me create my Workflow for this, which is one I was struggling with. I hate reinventing the wheel every time and so if I can create a Workflow/Checklist that works with some modifications along the way I do it.

Batching is great. I also do a few "takes" of each video and use the best one. I'm better at talking than editing so this simplifies my A Roll editing and saves time on that end of the process. An extra hour in front of the camera saves me lots of hours editing.

Thanks for the tips. I usually try to dedicate a day of the week or so to film and edit as I only do this during my own time while I still have a full time job. I try to have my content ready before the film day and I manage to post a video each week. There are videos that I'm less happy with as there are some weeks that I'm more busy than others where I have less energy to film. But I make a promise to my viewers on my channel that I try my best to post once a week other than if I'm out of town. :) I keep myself motivated each week to film by watching youtube videos like your's during my breaks at work.

Thanks for the tips. I think batching is a good idea. I just relaunched my channel . previously I was spending way to much time editing and it made it nearly impossible for the amount of time I have set aside to post. I found a teleprompter works best so i do not have to spend time editing later. I also found for me its better to keep my videos shorter so i can get them uploaded in less time. this is why teleprompter is key for me. so far it looks like i can be consistent but only time will tell.

Great video! I think I'll start batching soon. I do my research for my videos around Monday's and then shoot them on Fridays and upload on Sunday's.

Batching is the way to go. That is my strategy for the time being. It really does eliminate the need to setup everything all over again. Do it all in full swoop. It will save you time. Thanks Sean, for the awesome advice!

This video was so informative! I also chuckled a bit because even though my channel is geared toward the outdoors I still try to spruce myself up before filming.

This video was tremendously helpful...I need to turn these steps into a written list that I keep in my little notebook of video ideas.

Setting up an atmosphere is great. Aesthetics are something we all subconsciously look for in everything. We all realize within a few seconds whether we want to watch the video were watching or not.
