crosstrainingen... How to avoid idiots when adventure or dual sport riding! Life on two wheels is awesome. And you meet some of the best people on the planet when riding motorbikes. Welcome to Cross Training Adventure, we are into all things dual sport and adventure on the east coast of Australia. And of course many of them will become friends who you can trust with your lives. Keen on adventure riding in Australia? Check out our vids. Which is pretty handy as you never know when that may actually happen. Unfortunately there is a very small minority of prize dickheads out there too. I have been incredibly lucky to only ride with a few over the years. Three cases stand out. A guy had electrical issues. Six of us spent 40 minutes diagnosing the issue as he just stood around looking clueless. So subscribe. Or don't subscribe to our Cross Training Adventure riding channel. The main thing is get out and ride while you can with dual sport riding or Adventure riding in Australia, Canada, Vietnam, Romania and beyond! So check out Cross Training Adventure. We tried to jump-start it, rode back to get jumper leads, then eventually rode his motorbike out because he kept stalling it. Not a single word of thanks to everyone. If you like dual sport riding in Australia then you might like our adventure riding vids. On the next ride he had problems again and most of us just rode away. And we've done a 10 part series on how to unleash the mighty beast that lurks within. What else? Cross Training Adventure actively avoids sponsorship. We like doing seriously critical reviews. Manufacturers make some really bad mistakes. and there is a lot of dodgy crap being sold out there. Instead of glowing dual sport reviews for kickbacks or free product, we will try to keep the buggers honest. A rider with very average skills. Every straight section he would try to overtake everyone. But his cornering skills were crap and he would hold everyone up. I kept asking him why he did this and he would just laugh and say it was good fun. We are the 27th most watched dirt channel in Uzbekistan. We have won the polished turd award five years in a row. And we have a world record 25 class action lawsuits for inaccurate information. So called dual sport riding reviews are just glossy ads nowdays. Everyone is trying to sell you stuff you don't need, convince you to buy the latest model with anodized coffee cup holders for your trips to the coffee shop. Of course if you are cashed up and into bling, go for it. Why? We reckon it's 80% the rider and 20% the bike. So the Cross Training Adventure focus is just get out there and have fun on two wheels. Instead of obsessing over the latest blinged out Beemer, which tyres to fit or spending a fortune on your suspension or billet alloy gas cap. So most of our adventure riding vids will feature the much loved bush pig, the Suzuki DR650. One day he tried to overtake me on the inside of a narrow country road and I ended up yelling at him. His response? 'But it's all just good fun'. Idiot. And I remember a rider who hated corner-marking on our adventure rides. Even a 20 second wait for the next rider would get him really impatient. He kept arguing that corner-marking wasn't needed. I kept explaining why. Check out our reviews of various adventure bikes and dual sport bikes. He kept arguing. Eventually I suggested he could do his own ride. But if he crashed badly and we couldn't see him, we wouldn't come looking for him. The next morning he left before we awoke and we never heard from him again. His attitude to horse riders was interesting too. We would slow down and ease past? His approach? 'Fuck them. This is our track, not theirs'. Lets cover some basics. Maintain your motorbike regularly, especially if it's an older motorbike. Always have the tools and basic spare parts to fix common breakages and problems. If you don't have a required part and someone gives you theirs, buy them a replacement. I am always stunned when a rider has a puncture, doesn't have a tube, but they take someone else's then don't buy them a new one. If someone helps you, say thanks. Maybe they don't expect a 'thanks'. But many do. We are regularly amazed at how often an unprepared rider receives help but never says thanks. Don't be surprised when you aren't invited to more rides!Show up on time. Some riders are always late. At the very least apologise if you have delayed the start. And invent a believable reason. Be a 'team player' on the ride. Don't try to impress everyone with your alleged riding skill. Follow the corner marking system. Don't try stupid overtaking maneuvers, aggressive riding, or roosting everyone. This is one of our three channels, there's also a Cross Training Trials channel, and a Cross Training Enduro channel. All three are equally dodgy.
