I have been doing the old fashioned flat iron curl for like six years and was getting sooo bored with it. So I tried this tutorial and have been doing it for a couple weeks now (it doesn't take that long when you get comfortable with it btw) and I never had more compliments on my hair in my life! Just a tip you dont have to let go in between each curl direction. You can easily just slide it all the way down your hair. Its up to you though whatever works best!
I loveeeed it! I always used to go to hair salons to get beachy waves for certain events and they ALWAYS screw up by giving me curls instead of waves (different places every time and many of them very expensive) I always end up fixing it myself, you're saving me a lot of money girl love you!

i found this video cause i wanted to try beachy waves and can i just say while i’m not as in to beauty channels as much as i once was i just subscribed and might get back into it because you seem so amazing and well spoken and just so genuine! i feel like a lot of the huge names in the beauty community on youtube got so toxic and is part of the reason i stopped watching it was almost as if i didn’t know who i should be supporting but you seem so kind and this was a fantastic tutorial!

I have curly hair that I need to straighten at the roots but wanted waves at the ends without having to use a flat iron and a curling iron. This worked great!
You could apply mousse to your hair as a prep and finish with strong hold hairspray but this really isn't a style that can last unless you have hair that really holds. Your curl sets whilst cooling down. When you're curling with a straightner you're pulling on the hair while it's still hot and setting so you're kind of pulling the curl out. If I need curls to last for my clients I will curl, drop it in my hand and clip it with a metal, tiny clip. Once all the hair is curled and clipped I let it cool down for 20 to 30 minutes, spray with medium hold hairspray, take the clips out and finish with strong hold. Only way to really make a curl Stay.
THANK YOU! My hair is in really weird. When I wash it, parts of it curl perfectly in most wonderful, natural waves. And the rest of my hair is just like hay :D. I never managed to curl the rest of my hair to be the same like my natural waves, and curling it the usual way would mean I'd have two types of curls on my head :D. So, I mostly had to give up my natural hair. BUT THEN I'VE FOUND THIS VIDEO! And now I can finally match the 'stubborn' parts of my hair to naturally waved parts.
I am so grateful I was born with beach wave hair. All I do is spray on leave-in paraben free conditioner scrunch it in and let it air dry. Wash and Wear hair :) My hair is long, dark and shines like a raven. Very healthy because I rarely use a hair dryer, hair straightener and don't need a curling iron. Every now and then I be in the mood to straighten my hair for a different look, but not very often. I am always happy with my hair.
Really pretty. My hairstylist did that on some of my hair but the hair on the top she just did big curls and slightly combed it out. Came out great! My hair is thick and somewhat coarse so doing this with a flat iron on all my hair would take too long :(
Oh my gosh the finished look is SO gorgeous but this method is way too time consuming. I bought a waver for like $20 on Amazon and it gives a very similar look in just a few minutes! Love your videos. You are amazing!
Love this and you did a great job explaining this process. I have been doing this to my hair for a few years every now and then, but I just do it the second technique you showed. The curls are not as nice, but at least it's still fun and different way to have some wave to the hair. When I have time to really do myself up, I will use the way you prefer. Thanks for sharing!
If you use a hair wand and curl it and then brush it out it looks like this. Just straighten the ends before you brush it out. Much easier but her hair does look really pretty, not sure how quick it would be tho.
Okay, I actually thought this was going to take forever, but I tried it this morning, mine don't look exactly like hers, but for a first time I'm happy with how they came out and it legit didn't take nearly as long as it seemed like it would.
It might take longer but the first technique she shows comes out so great. She even says it will last so if youre like me and dont have alot of time in the morning to primp you can always try to do it the night before?
Certainly gonna try this!! The other way of curling with a flat iron does NOTHING with my hair. So hope this is gonna work because a curling iron gives me too tight curles.
Wow, what's with all the negative comments? We all know how to use the video slider, don't we? The curling starts at about the 1:30 mark. This is actually a very good, informative video. Long process though. I think the hair products industry should create something to facilitate this for us with an iron to wave the hair fast. I have the wave iron where your hair goes into the black hole and comes out wavy but way too wavy for my liking. Beach waves, my ass! For now, this is the way to go. She's got the method and for a special occasion or worthwhile taking the time to fancy it up, I'd follow this tutorial. Good job!
If you want a quicker version of this just copy what she does except keep the straightener on your hair the whole time and just go back and forth down your hair I have a lot of hair but it only takes about 20 mins and the result is basically the same
Anyone can achieve this if they but a hair wavy curler but this good for those who get can't get one Also mayber the night before y'all could pin the hair the way it waves so when it drops it won't be half way straight With hairspray of course
