Pretty brilliant video. But what I noticed while watching the first death game "Green light, Red light" is that on "Green light" the doll turns it's head the same way every time (counter-clockwise). Meaning if the doll's motion sensor is activated the whole time it would be pretty wise to run along the wall that gets in the doll's view last increasing our chance to stop on time and not get detected.

For the marbles game, they didn't state that you have to keep your marbles. Just that you have to have you opponents. So, just exchanging the marbles would let both players win.

At least in the English version, the rules of the marbles game had a loop hole. They simply state that you win if you can get all 10 marbles from your partner through a game of your choice. Thus, my approach would have been to team up with a friend and do a simple game that lets us both win each other's bag of marbles simultaneously ( e.g. I win if I can drop my bag of marbles on yours, you win, if you can catch my bag while holding your bag of marbles in your hand). After all, keeping your own 10 marbles was not stated as a requirement and it did not state you had to have a total of 20 either - you just had to get the 10 marbles of the other, so both could win at the same time :-) When watching the different games they came up with, I was baffled that nobody thought of that. But maybe the rules are phrased differently in the original language, not allowing such a win-win outcome...

Player 001 knew the song the doll was singing in between saying red light and green light so, even when the lyrics began to speed up, he knew when she was about to switch to the other light. Sang woo didn't plan to deliberately kill Gi Hun by suggesting they take different doors. The game could have a limited number of winners per room for all he knew, and getting the whole group in one room means some of them have to die for the others to survive. He basically took the easiest route for himself and avoided a zero sum situation for the group.

I really wonder what would've happened if someone at the glass panel game actually wasn't heavy enough to break any of the glass, could you just carefully go on all fours and crawl over the glass to get across? Underweight people exist, it could be an advantage in that game + you'd be able to fool all other players by randomly going left or right.

Ali's death was the most heartbreaking one. He trusted his friend with his marbles and was killed completely cold heartedly by him. And he had so much more to live for, a wife and a young son. His "friend" knew it and still stole his rightful win (life)

Even ignoring the other strategies, you can maximize your chances of picking the right shape on the honeycomb game by using process of elimination on the shapes. You have a triangle, circle, star, and umbrella. Three of them are basic geometric shapes, so you can eliminate the umbrella as the odd one out there. From there, you have two shapes with straight edges and corners, and a rounded circle. The circle is the odd one out, so again, you can eliminate it. After that, you have the triangle, which is the most stable and one of the most simple geometric shapes, and a star, which has lots of concave sections and is a much more complex shape. Of those two, even not knowing the game, the triangle is a safer bet.

Licking is not just moistening the candy, it's also making the bit you need to cut through thinner, so you have less to cut through.

Ali and Sae-Byeok's death was one of the heartbreaking moment I really sympathized for. Both of them were poor because a victim of fraud in foreign country... while the others came to the game mostly after being in debt caused by gambling.

In the marble game, I'm surprised that no one tried to just exchange bags with their partners. Wouldn't this mean that both meet the win condition and survive? Worth trying it at least.

Side note: The handguns used here aren't actually pistols, they're revolvers. It's hard to see the handgun, but in some shots, you can see the cylindrical chamber behind the barrel. I would've tried to win the marble game by exploiting the concept of gganbu. The goal of the game is to obtain all of the opponent's marbles without violence. Also, the second rule of the death games is relevant. If you don't play, you die. Therefore, I would pick a game that isn't decided instantly and doesn't involve luck. Nim is perfect since it'd also work as a plan B. I'd propose Nim to my partner and tell them that I have a plan which will let us both live. Then I will play a few rounds, fulfilling the second condition of the games. Then I'd talk to my partner and make them agree that we are gganbu. Then I would walk up to our referee and tell them that we have played and concluded that we are gganbu. Therefore everything of ours is shared. We both have all of the marbles and therefore have our opponent's marbles as well as our own, and we have both won. If this is refused, I would continue with the game of Nim and hopefully win.

As someone who used to be involved in a lot of group fights, the best way to be safe in a fight like the nighttime one in Squid Game is to gtfo out of the way. Unless you’re exceptionally big and powerful, and especially if it’s a fight where you could get seriously hurt or killed, leave. Everyone has their weak spots and it’s always possible to beat someone bigger than you, but a group is so unpredictable - especially like this nighttime fight when you have no real allies - that getting out of the way is the only safe option. Best bet is to climb high up in those bunks. It’s way out of the eyeline of those on the floor, and if you’re against the wall and still you won’t be seen. Hiding down low is less safe. Ps: judging by the entire series, the only way to win is not to play, as a 1980s computer once said. And stay out of debt!

"Forced" - Lets remember they were NOT forced to play anything! In fact they were given the chance to go home and went back!

The marbles were the most screwed up emotionally, but the glass bridge was the most screwed up fairness-wise. Given that the last 3 people were the only ones that lived, they didn’t even give the people who more wisely chose the safety of the middle jerseys an advantage. It was the only game that was virtually all luck

I just now noticed that when Number 001, the owner, begged the players to stop killing themselves during nighttime violance, it was a command for the workers to interfere, since ya know, he's the boss

The fact that there was no rule against eliminating other contestants in the dorms was the dumbest thing ever. Imagine if all the players killed each other off, or 90% of them did. Now you have basically no players for the rest of the games, and it's just boring for the hosts if like, 2 were alive for tug of war and they had to cut the competition short. It was a really lazy way to kill off a portion of players. That scene always bothered me so much.

I love how you watched the show first then came up with all these theory's. Obviously being in that situation without knowing would be more difficult and hinder your thinking and strategy abilities.

The first game was definitely the most unfair. Imagine you catch on right away and you're prepared to stay still, but then you just get swept up in the terrified mob running for the door because you can't do anything to dodge them without being shot anyway.
