Glad you liked it! I have a buyers guide coming out soon that I think could be helpful as well! I'm planning on making a video like this for each villain in the core box. I'll make a klaw guide, then an ultron guide.
I think take for granted how much aspect power creep we have had now that I have a full card collection. Villians that where actually hard back in the day when I had a smaller collection like rhino and claw are now piss easy for me.
15:00 you should play Black Cat 🐈⬛ first - potential card draw is still card draw. You can also dodge the stun on stage 3 if you're in alter ego, say have Black Cat do it. I'd say another weakness is a soft modular set and not many boost icons. A feature would be very low HP but with tough, heals and Rhino Suit to offset that. I've not played core only since I had the option not to in 2019. On top of the card quality the shortage of allies is killer!
@@jonathanpickles2946 As always thanks for the detailed feedback! and yes I could have played blackcat first. Maybe I discard genius or something like that. I just was really focused on making sure I had enough thwart. And you're right, bomb scare is a pretty weak modular. I can always calculate max damage reliably because there isn't triple boosts. I had a blast playing just the core set. It's nostalgic, and I think it also helps reshape how many decks are possible. With what would be considered a weak deck now I think I could take on a variety of different expert villains and still get a decent win rate.
@@jonathanpickles2946 also, that’s a fantastic idea to flip rhino while in alter-ego to avoid stun. I should have mentioned that in the video. That lack of allies is really tough for low hp heroes. Chump blocking wasn’t really a thing back then lol. I honestly think it’s more exciting to play with less than 5 allies in my deck even though it’s almost always stronger to add more
Loved this video! thanks for the insights. Would this kind of setup work for the other villains solo in the core box? at standard difficulty. Or would Ultron and Klaw be problematic with the quantity of minions out on the table?
@@jarethmacarthur2447 in standard this would work for klaw, and I think ultron could be defeated as well with this deck. Expert would be harder. I was thinking of testing it on stream. I imagine this build can win in those scenarios but it is not what I would take against klaw and ultron to give myself the best odds. Though it is the best odds against rhino!
