Good video as always Steve. Before starting a game or practice session, one of the best things to do is try to send the cue ball up an down through the spots, simple to go up through the blue pink and black spots of course, but if you are not cueing straight it won't come back to anywhere near the brown spot, good to see you do this at the start.

Coach, As is your every lesson, this lesson is so clear and great in content. To remember to put into practice, we need to transfer this lesson into our cellphone and watch just before we enter the billiard hall! Especially for likes of me who have been playing for decades without correction nor guidance and now trying to unlearn the bad and to practice the proper and good, in order convert the preshot routine into a reflex action. It is now eight months plus since I struck a ball and the only practice is the mirror, a chopped off plastic water bottle with a narrow neck and a golf ball marked top, centre and bottom as the object ball with a long line drawn on the table substituted for the line of aim. While hope we must, these desperate times make me sad that we are not playing this wonderful game. Excuse me for rambling; it is like I am speaking to you in person as my very own personal friend, guide, philosopher and above all the noble individual I see in your discourses. With high regards and good wishes, sincerely VishG

@@dermotshaw6775 Ridiculous, don't know why they can't be let open provided you sanatize on the way in, bring your own cue, wear a mask and just disinfect the balls after each use, bit tedious but you're not going down to pot balls for 15 minutes so I cam't see why not.

@AD-kv9kj
@AD-kv9kj 2 года назад
@@dermotshaw6775 Of course. Football is an enormous source of national revenue. Snooker clubs aren't. A good snooker club should clean the balls after every use anyway, so if every snooker club started this practise among others, they might find themselves more popular in the years to come. My local Rileys don't even brush the tables once a day (not even sure they do it at all, as it's always players who have to bring their own brush and give the tables some care). Napping and ironing or even just wiping down the wood seem to be beyond them also. If you try to mention any of this stuff to their staff, they clearly have no clue and haven't been trained a jot about looking after snooker tables. All they're there for is to serve drinks and take customers money on minimum wage and minimum training. Every single time I go to a Rileys the fluffy, deep-pile shag cloth is filthy (if not also ripped and years overdue for replacement), not been napped for god knows how long, the balls are covered in marks and even the spot stickers are half missing and dented in like potholes. I have to waste 10-15 minutes of my paid play time on a table just brushing, napping and cleaning every time. This can also be embarrassing because you get people looking at you like "Wow, this guy must be a professional!" then they all come and stare at you practicing and laugh when you start missing shots.

Pls make a video on shot angles different angles around the table which players encounter day to day play in club Like Full ball hit Half ball hit and quarter ball hit and angles in between them also tell about between angles so we practice n get 90% pot success.

IF U dont make video on those in between angles detailed video then all is waste in watching u bcz main thing is correct shot angle whats the benefit of watching all these things like stance cue action etc etc if u dont know what angle your pot is.

Hiya Steve, I find my game to be extremely inconsistent. I just played my first ever tournament in which I played extremely well (for a first timer) in some frames, and complete rubbish in some games. I find the main issue to be the way I deliver my cue, where I seem to flick my wrists sometimes which causes me to miss. Any tips on how I can have a more stable wrist?
@TheSmokeeeey
@TheSmokeeeey 3 года назад
Stephen Lee and Shawn Murphy say that for good cue control you need to feather the cue with your rear hand loose on the cue and a split second or maybe as you're pushing through, grip up on the cue. Look it up they both have very good tips on the game, hope you do well. Keep it up!

Hi steve. Nice video. Sorry its off topic but Ive been into centre vision recently and watched one of your videos on the subject. I watched a pool guy setting up a line of balls and getting behind them to find the centre vision. My question is surely if you find the line of aim correctly while standing up and getting into the shot, why does the centre vision matter at all?

Hi Steve, great video as always! I have a question where u can help me please - exactly at 03:00 - 03:10, when walking into the shot with the line on the floor, isn't your eye which you are aiming with, to the left of the line of the shot at that moment (while walking into the shot)? Since your foot is more to the right from centre than your eye is, one needs to tilt his head to the right in order to have foot and eye in-line with line of shot, which I think you are not doing. How does that work, how do you aim, or am i mistaken? Thanks!

Hi Steve, when you break off with right hand side,where exactly are you hitting the cue ball? Are you strikeing the cue ball at 3 o clock or 2 o clock? When you demonstrate the shot it would be handy if you could put a cue ball on the screen showing where you are striking the cue ball. Thanks
@BartonSnooker

Hi Jeff, Thanks so much for watching the videos 😃 All my latest videos have the cue ball shown on screen, which shows exactly where I'm striking. On the break off shot I'm sticking at around 4 or 5 o'clock.
