As for #9 I have some more info. I am a VA Student. Part 141 schools are the only way and the training is usually associated with a degree program. Most are associated with a 2 year degree program, but I was initially under the impression that the VA would only pay for anything beyond a private. So I was trying to find a way to finance that. But then from a chance meeting with some students from Middle Georgia State University found out if you enroll in a 4 year degree (BS) program the VA will pay it all as long as you complete each rating in a reasonable amount of hours. And use appropriate aircraft for the rating. So now I’m a student there. Getting a degree, all my ratings and doing it in new Cabri G2’s. Private check ride end of January.
Very nice, thanks for adding that information in the comments. Please subscribe to my channel if you haven't Adam. I see you have opted in for Live Training Tuesday at www.helicopterground.com Grab a free copy of my book "Helicopter Check-Ride" with this link www.helicopterground.com/pl/1856
Thanks so much! I've done my test flight and I did ground school in high school (but I need to re-do it). I moved to a rural area where there is no instruction but hopefully in two years I will be moving again. In the meantime, I hope to complete your online flight training (and whatever else you'd recommend).
A question I didn't see here, is how do you guys feel about home built BFT sims? I plan to buy/build a kit for a real nice R-22/44 simulator with all the flight controls, and a VR setup, running on a powerful computer. Just curious if you have experience with these, and if so, do you have any hardware/software recommendations?
