“How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” This is the single most common question people ask us. There’s a long and rocky version but we’ll give you the short one. I think that's hilarious that people don't wanna give YOU exposure without $$. Lol I'm just super tickled if you guys even notice my stuff 🤣🤣 I do a dang good job especially for somebody who is completely RU-vid taught. Have you guys ever thought about ambassadors for all of your at home users? I know that's not your gig at all but there's a lot of us and we love your stuff! We love that you include us and don't look down on us like so many other companies. There are reasons I don't do this as a job but it is my passion and it is my creative outlet and I'll be doing this forever. Love you guys and gals!

I set up a youtube channel but have not uploaded any content to it as of yet. I have been putting off the editing of videos.... I recently reached out to YN about the Ambassador program because I truly love this brand and the whole environment you've created. I use a majority YN products in my salon, and honestly would just love to be associated with the company because I love the way you all go about everything from education to marketing to A+++ customer service...YN is the whole package! Honestly, I tag the hell out of companies on my IG & list all of the products I use on my nails. I want them to see how much I enjoy their products, how it’s being used & I like it so much that I hope others will be able to use it too. I think it’s good for others to see what I’m using. My goals is just for the companies to see my stuff & like it. When that finally happened w/ one, not only did they like my posts but they reposted me a few times & I was just so EXCITED! That’s all I want. Exposure to followers & stuff will eventually come but I am very much happy just being acknowledged by the companies that I love 💕

yess I’ve noticed that too! be consistent, I’ve noticed that way before I only posted a few once in awhile and now I see that a lot of companies notice you if you post more not tooo much but like 2-3 times a day so now I tag companies every picture made a RU-vid and comment!! comment under their pictures! they will see and notice!!!

I enjoy acknowledging which brands I’m using. If I use YN ManiQ, I tag that. If I use another company’s top coat for some reason, I tag them as well. Someone out there may want to know how I achieved the look or I might need to use those tags as a personal reminder. But! If YN wants to make me an ambassador at some point, I would be honored!😁💕

I love you Guys.... stay safe all the time! I love your products, I almost started SUB distributing your products in Kuwait. But unfortunately my Contact Supplier in Dubai transferred to Turkey. Since then I only buy On Line thru my Sister In Law in the USA. I am a Nail Educator in Kuwait for over a decade and your product brand is one of my favorite to use in Training. I wish I can be an Influencer of your products but my RU-vid Channel is fairly new. I am more active in Facebook and Instagram. With RU-vid I don't really have a brand product that I use specially. So I train more on Technical than talking about any brand. And lately I haven't been posting in RU-vid which is very sad. Kuwait is a very small Market. So I hope you will have a Distributor here very soon where we can buy your brand with no issues. How can I be entitled to be your influencer? I don't need to get paid for now... I have only over a thousand followers 😊😊 I just want to use your products while I go LIVE. A product that we don't have in Kuwait. I meet you Guys. Greg and Habib in Beauty World Dubai way back 2017 or 2018?? Not sure 🤔 now 😅😅 An avid fan here... I just wish that my Children will be like you two... who made the dream of your Mother come true. Ok so I need to buy the brands products, tag them, and pray they notice me. Got it lol. OH, and actually love the product for the brand I'm tagging! That should be a no brainer though... I don't want to work with a company I don't love and believe in.

What I would like to add: reaching out to companies is a great thing to do. However, if you DM or email a company keep in mind you are essentially cold calling them. Like Tracey and Habib said, have an idea of what kind of business you want out of it and what is in it for your business partner. And be realistic about these things. You don't need a million followers to be taken seriously, after all the beauty of social media marketing is that it can be very targeted so even someone with relatively small following can be a great match to a company if they are trying to reach a specific niche. But don't go whining to a brand about how your 300 followers are going to bring sooooo much business. At best they'll say no and consider never working with you in the future, at worst it'll get you posted on r/ChoosingBeggars if it's a small brand. Be professional and polite and ideally have a media kit prepared to back up your argument of being able to bring business. I'm not the social media marketing guru to rule them all but I've worked in that field for a bit, I've had friends reach some level of clout and friends with small companies get overrun by "influencers" who have nothing of value to offer but want all the free product. It is business after all, treat it as such. PS: and don't buy a few thousand followers to trick companies. That's fraud. People have been sued for it and most companies these days are aware of it and will look for signs of botting.

I love a video that really makes you think. This was great. I never thought about being that direct in any approach but it’s a little early for me as yet, because I’m still on 200 subs on RU-vid and 335 followers on Instagram so far. How big does anyone think we need to be before reaching out to companies?

We recommend talking to some people who have high traffic jobs (bartenders, hairdressers, bank tellers, wait staff, etc) see if any of them would be interested in a one time free set and then potential clients will see their nails and they can refer them to you. For our programs specifically, an influencer would be someone who uses our products, has great engagement with their followers and usually has a higher follower count. Ambassadors are lovers of our products who use them most if not all the time and the follower count isn't as important.

It's hard to say because different companies would be looking for different type of things when looking for an influencer for their company. I would just do what you want to do and you can always inquire with companies about their influencer program if they have one and what they are looking for.

I’ve officially been out of the nail game for over 20 years and now provide nail services for myself, family and friends just because I enjoy it. I started in 1995 & have used tons of sketchy products over the years...Really, I’ve wasted thousands of $$$.... I am so happy that I have discovered Young Nails products. I use Both the acrylic and gel because they are excellent. I watch and comment on Young Nails posts because they are informative and entertaining...no other rewards necessary!

It’s you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours. And like habib said about the billboards, that’s how business get out there. Word of mouth and exposure, advertising. Whether it’s 30 years ago or now. That’s how it started than and will still happen now. When music people would start out they would go to record labels and submit their tapes or constantly calling them are going to open mics it’s the same thing with everything else

A couple months back I reached out to your company to ask if I could get a free product to review on my channel. I never heard anything back This is when I had my other channel and I had 600 subscribers. I share all my accounts for RU-vid I do all of them together Instagram I post everything together I don't have separate pages I do That's for my photography business. I'm thinking the reason why I didn't hear back from you guys is because I don't have a nail channel and nail ig ? I also agree with you being 100% up and asking because I've done that and I've either gotten a yes from companies or no. Thank you for this video 🙂

Great conversation and info from a brands prospective. However, if you do notice a tag and thy use your product, do you usually let them know you've seen it by liking or commenting? I'm consistant with tagging and using the requsted hasttags, yet I fear I'm not being noticed. Also, are you more inclined to see a tag on Instagram or Twitter?

we do notice when people tag us whether it's in their stories or posts on their feed. We will go through and try to like as many as we can. I would say we use Instagram more but, there are less people reaching out on Twitter so that can mean more visibility, speaking for us specifically ❤️

Do you have to be a professional nail tech to be an ambassador or influencer? I create nails designs on an artist level. I am not looking to become a professional nail tech at this time because I have a profession of 15+ years. Not saying I wouldn’t change careers if the stars aligned. There is a lot I plan to do before approaching a company but just wondering.

I feel like this needs a more direct answer... No disrespect! I'm a big fan of lists, i.e., start a RU-vid account (does it need to have "nails" in the name?), Start an Instagram account (do you need 2 accounts, like one for nails and one personal, and if so, should your nail profile have "nails" in the name?), Get this lighting/program/equipment/ can you do it all from your phone camera starting out?, Post videos regularly like one, two, three days a week, etc. This kinda left me with so many unanswered questions that I'm sure you all know the answers to and I'm sure would love to share with little ole me (us). Tysm

About the consistency, you talk about every single day to post but if the consistency of the person is let’s say 3 times a week and that is good work and content, does it have as much value?

Hi Clara, habib here... I would ask you... is that working for you? If 3x a week is working, then its good. If its not working, then you have to make some changes... more content, different content, mix it up, see what is working. Some influencers have huge success posting 1 RU-vid video a week. Some have little success posting 7 times a week. You have to try it, analyze, and change/adjust when needed. For us, posting volume has worked really really well, but we have to always make changes and adjust. I hope that helps.

They are very similar. You would need to ask the specific company you are looking to work with about their programs because they amy differ on a case by case basis.
