I just reached out to 3 brands that I use their products regularly in my videos because I love their brand - really daunting to be honest! I was denied for 1, no response from the 2nd, and the third liked the collab idea and asked me - yes they asked me - how much I'd charge for a video on their channel! This happened today and I'm so nervous that I raised the bar too high with my asking price...we'll see how it goes, but this video helped ease my nerves because I think every creator can relate at some point that knowing your worth and value should start early! If you're serious about your channel, start early for sure. I wish I had.
Huge congrats on making that first step and pitching to a few brands! I agree it's super daunting however don't be put off if they try to negotiate you down or question your value - define you worth and stick to it!
Update - they worked with me on the collaboration and agreed to pay me what I asked for! 😁 Definitely worth reaching out to companies you love and would want to work with!

Great video!! Was wondering if you can shed a little more light on the process of attaining the actual email contacts for brands you want to target and pitch to. I feel like this is a topic within the process of procuring sponsorship that isn’t highlighted as much as it should be. I’m a travel content creator and created a good media kit, then had a fiverr seller do some of this research grunt work to find email contacts for me at both small and bigger players in the travel industry. With whatever emails she collected, I blasted out a mass email only inquiring for other direct contact email addresses for their social media marketing departments. Unfortunately I did not get the responses I was hoping for… Any ideas will be helpful…. Thanks!

I've recently made a spreadsheet with a bunch of brands that I want to pitch myself to (mainly for my organization) based on what relates to me. I found a bunch of brands on Instagram that I like and that also work with other small influencers. I'm struggling with the actual message part and what I should say, so this was really helpful. Is under 1000 subscribers too small for brands to want to sponsor? I have almost 400 subscribers and over 700 Instagram followers. I have a couple of brands I am passionate about that I want to partner with, but I’m scared that reaching out too soon will ruin my chances.

Question: based on all you say about stats/analytics I'm guessing a person should already be a couple months into a channel with several posts/#s to be able to share with brands?
